Anyone else having trouble with the meal plan function, it says:
'You need to first complete a Meal Plan analysis before you can view your meal plan. Please try again later'0 -
Ok.. I joined in June-ish time so my renewal is just under a year away... I am so far only on bronze, but go to the gym 2+ times a week.. reading through the stuff sent from pru health, I am better of choosing example 1 and staying on the plan I am already on, until renewal,
would you say that's correct?0 -

I can confirm i dont work for prue, infact for work for the fruity mobile network company.
I find it staggering you think its hard to get to platinum??!?!
How can any true money saver, think this is terrible? As i said i agree for someone just starting now the deal isnt as good for brand new customers as the old one was, but in the long term this is better.
Also existing customers were given the option to opt out of going into this scheme if they prefered the old version, (if you agreed to waive your right to use the new vitallity partners) pru would hold up there end of the bargain until the renewal date of your policy, im sure with this option you wont have much of a leg to stand on im afraid =(0 -

If your still bronze, and are not bothered about the new offers, then opt out.
Just make sure you hit plat before renewal!
Also make sure you dont use new vitallity partners, as they wont stop you using them, you just forefit any refunds if you do!0 -
thank you.. just wanted to double check :money:0

Huh, i can opt out? since when, i was told gym would be around £55+ at renewal for bronze, but should reach silver by end of month, is plat only 2K points?
By opting out does that mean i'm better off as long as i dont want eurostar champeys etc, then i have until my 1 year anniversary to hit plat yeah?0 -
Just tracking down the original Pruhealth/Holmes Place thread to say "Thank You" again and saw this:The_Shots_Forever wrote: »I have read through this thread and am convinced that many of the subscribers actually work for the Prudential. I think it was googling for cheap gym membership that actually led me to MSE. Although MSe has saved me loads of money since, this was still the best deal I've come across. Me and my girlfriend pay about £17 a month for our central London gym and the "partners" deals are awesome.
No links to pruhealth apart from as a satisfied customer0 -
I actually signed up here to say that while I have no affiliation with Pruhealth I am very happy with the new deal.
I am currently in my second year and went from paying 15 pounds for insurance and 15 pounds for gym membership, to just under 9 pounds for insurance and 29 pounds for gym membership. I will be down to 9 + 15 in January and 0 + 15 in June. If my gym wasn't a Virgin Tier 2, I'd be getting it for free!
The only reason I'm not yet there is that I didn't realise this would happen and didn't bother doing all the unnecessary stuff last year because I was already getting the cheapest deal I could.0 -
I am completely fed up with PruHealth!!
I joined on August 1st 2008 and was happy after taking a lot of time to clarify how the gym membership works as this was the main reason I was joining.
Shortly after that I was informed of the Vitality Status changes to the scheme whilst I was paying my £25 fee for 3 months to get the gym started, was quite frustrating at first as I couldn't see how this could not have been communicated to me in August, but was eventually told that there would be an 'opt out' in October so decided to give it until then to decide.
After much deliberation I decided to switch on to the Vitality Scheme and have a good go at getting to Platinum as quickly as possible, I am currently at 1300 points doing all of the things discussed above, but have now run a ground with big leaps in points.
However, I had an email advert from PruHealth in September, informing me of a new partner (Polar) and that I could not only buy a discounted Polar Product, but earn points in much the same way as Fitbug, by uploading the data from exercise. This seemed perfect for me, as whilst I do use the gym, I prefer to do my running and cycling outdoors, so great!
Anyway bought the discounted watch and started uploading results on to Polar's website as I was told to do.
Since then I have been on to the phone numerous occasions, as it so happens that Polar and PruHealth have had technical difficulties sorting this out. So for the last 3 months I have not earned any points.
Additionally I read a rumour on a Polar Forum in September that PruHealth wouldn't be honoring post dated data once the system was up and running, I queried this with two separate Customer Services reps and was assured that PruHealth had taken the decision to retrospectivly honor the points since August. The Customer Service rep who called a week later to confirm he had sorted something else out for me (I had to fax him a copy of my screen) and double checked with him again, and again I was promised that the points would be awarded retrospectivly.
You can imagine my delight today when I called up to ask why I had not been informed that the problem had been resolved, and that it was luck that I just stumbled upon it, was I told that none of the points I have earned to date are eligible! I wouldn't have used the gym for the last two months if I didn't think they were going to qualify!
Anyway I am annoyed as it is about 230 points or so, I've picked this up with PruHealth who have stated that its company policy not to retrospectivly award points!!!!!!! I am waiting for a call back, I'll let you know how I get on!0 -
I'm also really upset with Pru Health.
I joined on this deal, I was paying £33 a month to PH & £15 to Virgin.
Tho I had said I wanted to stay on this deal to renewal they are now taking the £33 + £45 for gym!
They have said I will get this £30 a month back, but if so why take it. I am on a very low income, and don't have £30 extra a month.
I have gone 3x a week religiously since I joined at easter & had a fitness assessment so under this new system i'm still a couple of hundred points off gold. I can see no way in which I could possibly get another 1000+ by renewal to reach platinum.
I went to the Pry Health site, have signed up to some goals, the first was to lose 10% of my bmi by renewal - almost a stone! Since joining the gym my weight loss has been slow due to muscle gain! So if I did manage that I would get 50 points. The 2nd was going to the gym 5x a week for 12 weeks for 50 points.
Even if I did both of these i'd still be no where near platinum. Unless I wanted to spend £400 on a health assessment & if I had that I could afford to join the gym directly.
The current fee is 25% of my income, a lot! I resent the stress, the uncertainty, them taking the extra money from my bank account & all this hoop jumping.
I don't understand how others have said Platinum is easy, as i've done my 3x a week, fitness assessment, now goals but still no way near!0
