    Hi Bargain Rzl,

just wanted to drop in and say thanks for words.

Yes attending gym 60 times in 12 weeks for 50 points was totally horrendous!!! and something I never want to repeat.

So think it went thru okay, all now seems fine, so am hoping this year is it 10% of points that gets carried over so a 200 point start? +1500 for gym, 200 for articles, 150 non smoking dec, 50 stress questions, = 2100?

so should pass next year, on gym, reading & not smoking. as the weight loss / gym attendance goals were a 'mare!

so alls now fine. thanks again : ) x

    cheeky,

how does the thing with ebay work?

how do they know what you are purchasing?

as have brought my work-out clothes from ebay, tho prob in clothes rather than sporting? but if i was going to do get something would be good to rem if its not to much hassle or if short on renewal next year - as my bmi now healthy : ) that seems a much more sensible way to get 50 points!

I've only got a couple of weeks left before renewal and I'm 10 points shy of 2,000. I'm thinking of doing a fitness assessment so that I can bump my points up and carry some over to next year.

I know the fitness assessments can only be done every 6 months, how would this work if I did one now. Would I have to wait a whole 6 months before I could do another one or could I do it any time after my policy is renewed?

Each policy year you can do the first of your 6-monthly activities as early as you like. Within each policy year you have to leave six clear months between fitness assessments, but if your policy year rolls over on (say) 1st August, you could have a fitness assessment on 30/07 and another on 01/08 and both would count.

Do bear in mind that fitness assessments are in the Fitness category, and that if you are already up to your points limit on gym visits, the fitness assessment itself won't get you any more points. However, maintenance/improvement in some of the assessed categories (blood pressure, BMI etc) could still get you the extra points you need.

They get information from eBay about the category the item was listed in. Theoretically, it doesn't include 'non-sports' goods like Darts that are listed in this category, but sometimes I've seen points added for these purchases as well.

I've made a real mess with my policy. I've reached the end of the second year at platinum with 1990 points. For some reason I made a mistake about my renewal date and ended up going to the gym to get my final 10 points 1 day too late.

So of course my policy has renewed with 'gold' status instead of 'platinum' status which will be cost me £25 a month instead of £2 a month. Is it likely that Pruhealth would make an exception and give me an extra 10 points for last year?

Edit: Pruhealth have said no but I'm so cheesed off (with myself of course) that I've missed out on such a good deal by 1 day. I'm going to write a letter because I know they sometimes have more authority. If they still say no I think I'll have to cancel...

Edit 2: Pruhealth replied to my letter very quickly by phone but still said no. I guess it's fair enough that they don't want to help a customer change to a plan that's not profitable. So, I'm going to cancel.
  • pound i am so sorry! reminds me to hit platinum well ahead of time :-(

Yes, I should have been more like that. It's so annoying that over the year I've been reading those articles, doing fitness assessments, etc. etc. for nothing! Oh well.

Similar thing happened to me. I was waiting for a health screen which would take me up to the next band, they did not have any slots, but said they would try to find me one, I queried whether the points would apply to the current (old) or new year's points total. No response, year end came and went they found me an appointment, applied the points to the new year as a result of which my premium was markedly more. They refused to move the points back to the old year. Bit of a pain but I also accept that I should have not cut it so fine.
  • Come January Pruhealth is scapping discounted gym membership based on vitality status. Instead it will be 15% discount off the top gym membership price at your gym -this is for everyone including current platinum customers who currently pay next to nothing. Also health screening will no longer be based on vitality status - everyone will now just get a discount off the full price. You will now have to get 2500 points to get to platinum and the way of getting some points ie reading articles will go.
