Why is there such animosity between certain boards on here?

anyway, it's not just hugs we do well here.......we are very good at virtual jaffa cakes too......:D

I have to say, I post on Old Style, the Gambling board, and the referrers board without any problems at all.....I have also posted on the techie board and had some really helpful replies, so would venture over there again too.

And Murphy's "no more pies" thread in the Arms is very friendly - although not enough to keep me away from the chocolate completely.......!!

All in all, I think this site does a pretty good job - nothing is perfect in life, and this site is no different......but it ain't bad.

Its actually bloody marvelous on the whole. I liken the boards to pubs. This is my local, where i know everyone, sometimes i venture to the arms but that can be a bit like going to a town pub where you know no one at all and its a bit scary. Then we have the city centre pub where its go in one door and run like fooook out the other. And dont stop to say hello. LOL

Jaffa cakes, chocolate and hugs rule here. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

In all honesty though, it does not matter who you are or what you do, no one should ever be frightened of anyone else, or scared of posting. This may seem like a virtual world but on the other end of each comp is a real person in all sorts of real situations. So just because we are faceless to a degree does not mean we dont take things personally. It does not matter who you are, we should all be aware that it can take the slightest thing to tip someone over the edge. And i for one would not want to be responible in being a hand in that. It costs nothing to be courteous even if you cant be nice. But if you are both then all the better. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

The house price sub board is great, it keeps all the weirdos in one place and out of the nicer boards like DFW & MFW. It's a little like those rough US nightclubs that are on the outskirts of town (like in the movie, Roadhouse) where people go to have a rumble and don't impact the law-abiding towns folk. :rotfl:

I ventured in there a couple of weeks ago and posted on a thread entitled "Why are people so nasty on this board". Someone was remarking on how she loves the fact so many people with mortgages are suffering and how it serves them right for being sheep and buying a house in the first place. I made my DFW (i.e. caring) views known, and was set upon by some of the regulars like a pack of wolves!

Mind you, I did give better than I got. I'm quite notorious on there now.

It's funny to see how quickly forum bullies run to the Mods when you stand up to them.

I've only been on these boards a few weeks and I'm absolutely amazed at the level of kindness shown between people. I'm actually a mfw so very rarely post on here but I do read these forums quite a bit. I just find it amazing the way you all rally round when a newbie appears whose world is crashing down around their ears. I think it's very easy to judge others when you're in a position of comfort, and often bullies are the least secure people. Dunno what the point of this post is, don't let the b^ggers get you down, I supppose
