Any advice on how to deal with this?
bought a game in Cex in Cheltenham when staying there for a couple of days. Got back home to Yeovil (2+hours away) and it doesn't work. sent email for advice, but as usual no response. Without going back there (petrol costs not worth cost of game) what can I do? Nearest Cex stores 30+ miles away (and do stores accept returns from another shop?)
Any info/advice would be useful (apart form never trust them again!)2009 total raised £2373.60:jthe new garden beat me in 2010 just £1306.66:o2011 - 365 £ a day.
Life Changing October 2011 - DF & £10000 saved - twins came - no plans

Hi guys, is anyone still selling to CEX...
I had a bad feeling about selling my phone to them but thought it would be a better bet than risking the scammers on ebay...
However I sent my phone, on their website it said they had received and checked it and I can't remember the exact words but something like "awaiting payment"...
Now when I log into their site, I can see Order Tracking for "active orders" but if I click the "complete orders" link it comes up with an error.
I have tried to register for the forums but all accounts "need to be activated by admin" and they never do activate them so I can't post up on there...
I have got a bad feeling about this.0 -
I take it all back... well some of it....
Their website is still broken and I still can't get on their forums, but I have just noticed that £90 has been paid on to my CC this morning....
I'm now annoyed as the amount should have been £102.... they never contacted me to say there was anything wrong or why they were paying a lesser amount, so i'm guessing they are just trying it on.
Have e-mailed them to see whats happened and will see if they are any good at responding to e-mails.0 -
Update to the above post...
Got an e-mail back from CEX after a week...
"Dear Customer,
Unfortunately, your item was deemed unsuitable for resale at Grade A, and was regraded to Grade B.
I apologise for any inconvenience,
Thank you.
Regards"
INCONVENIENCE?!?!
When you register with them, and again when you send stuff to them they ask what you would like them to do if there is a problem with the order?
I specified both times that they should "send the item back to me" because I knew they would try a con like this...
Be warned, if you are selling something to CEX, a) you may never see the money, and b) if you do its likely to be a lot less than what you are supposed to get.
Sorry for the rant.0 -

I think each store has a different way, your best bet is to really go in before opening and wait. Most people do that. By midday they have no money in the tills.0

We have 2 of these shops in Birmingham city centre. You have to go at the right time though when they've got the cash to pay out.
I took my phone (sony ericsson K810i) and hubby's (Nokia N95) and I only just got in there and sold the N95 for £102. Had to bring my phone back though.Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £26,322.670 -
OH recently took some DVDs to our local Cex on a weekday and was told that they only buy stuff on Saturdays - we've sold old DVDs to them before and never had this problem, has the policy changed?0
