just bought two dvd sets in there last weekend - one of the discs won't play properly, so will have to pay to get it cleaned and hope it works, else that's £25 down the toilet.0

Why pay to get it cleaned lauzjp? Take it back and get a refund...
I can't understand why you would consider doing anything but that?!?!0 -
Ive had better luck than some it seems. My local store in Harrow is fine. I've traded in a lot of stuff mostly video games and a few consoles over the past couple of months without problems. They only once weren't giving out cash though it is annoying if you go all the way there to find that out because there phone system doesn't work properly.
But the cash values they give are good.
E.g i traded a new boxed xbox360 in cex offered me £120
gamestation £100
game £80
Guess where i went...0 -
sold a lot of stuff to them, via post and person (dvds, games, palmpilot) ... not had a hassle...0

i have to say from experiences steer clear from cex postal service - you are better off using the likes of tradeyourstuff.co.uk and if need be musicmagpie.co.uk (but they are taking ages now to pay for things youve sent off)0

I went to Enfield's CEX for the first time the other day. I think it has been open for about 6 months.
It was pretty grim inside. Xbox 360 games were way overpriced in comparison to other second hand sellers. DVDs were cheapish though.
I have found Blockbuster the most competitive with second hand game pricing but even this can vary considerably from one store to another.
For example, my local and small BB has Fallout 3 for £35 and the larger one in Southgate has it for £28. Both traded in of course.
Dead Space for £17.99 was a good result though.
My best buy was MOH Airbourne for £7.99. Could not stop playing for 48 hours straight!0 -
After a friend at works experience with CEX i'll never use the online store.
He ordered a game online - the first time he's used his card in months - and low and behold! A few weeks later unauthorised transactions start appearing. 3 small amounts (so not to raise suspicion) taken in a day in London.
Welcome to the world of CEX, where the staff members are as hooky as the stock.0 -
I will happily sell to CEX but if there is any chance at all that even a single item of their stock is stolen, buying is out of the question.0
