  • Cex has some excellent PS2 deals. I picked up Final Fantasy 12 for a fiver and almost bought a few more the other day, but the queue was out the door.

Obviously most of it's stock is nicked, but what can you do?

Oh, and the only thing more chavvy and unhelpful than the customers is the staff.

Gamestation is awful. Second hand games are more than you'll pay new in some places - same as Game. Even years old games - that you'll get for £2-3 in Cex or on eBay - will be £10+.

  • Not that i know for sure, but i suspect it's the first port of call for any burglars with a stash of games and DVD's to get rid of quickly.

The main problem the store has is that it's impossible to buy anything because the queue is all people selling stuff.
  • Hmmm but CEX checks your ID....surely no real thief would want to do it in that case?

I took an item to Cash Converters and they took a photo of me. Yuck!!

    a utility bill..
  • Why would they be scared to show ID? No-one can trace the games back to where they came from, and without evidence, no one can say you stole it.

One copy of GTAIV looks like every other in the country.

Maybe if police had the time to cross reference lists of stolen games from houses and Cex incoming games list, but that would take days, and they'd never do it.

Just ringing in to say that yeh, I sold some of my stuff but they couldn't take all of it because lack of cash in tills.

And not surprisingly, everyone wa brining in stuff to sell, barely anyone buying.

Their store is empty of stock, not enough to fill the shelves as they moved into a store about 4 times the size
  • try gamemagpie or tradeyourstuff.co.uk to get cash for the other items?
  • lol i needed is asap, basically the games I had cex wouldve bought for £4 eaach but I went into gamestatino and only £1 each... CEX is the best for deals but they simply ain't got the money half the time!
  • yup, cex are great when they are giving out cash (rarely!) - tradeyourstuff's cash prices arent usually too far off if not better but then it costs money to send the stuff to them..
