On weds they said "We havent got any cash at the mo come back on friday"
Went back on Friday - same story - no cash.
Took my phone back apart from wasting two lucnchtimes I am worried they may go bust over the weekend!!!
anyone wanna buy a new Nokia 6300?!:rotfl:
(it will be appearing on ebay shortly!)
I have to admit I use this shop all of the time and I think it's really good. Most of the time at the Leeds store anyway you have to que but I don't mind. If you go too early they may not be able to give you cash as they have to make so much money on the day before this is possible, kind of annoying I know as it has happened to me but if you go on an afternoon I have never had any problems. I personally wouldn't sell my items through there online site as I prefere to get the cash in my hand rather than wait for a cheque. However saying that a good site to use is www. musicmagpie.com (as a new user I can;t post links just remove the space! this website pays for the postage and your cheque arrives in a matter of days!
Oh how I love how this website has made me into a money saver!0 -
Has anybody sold to Cex online lately and if so, did you get your money OK? I sold a mobile phone a few months ago and the cheques kept bouncing, is this all sorted now?
Sent a phone 2 weeks ago and website still says waiting on delivery so contacted cex by email and they confirmed it had arrived and still waiting on payment a week later.0 -
I sent them a package a month ago £50 quids worth and they have replied a week ago to an email i sent confirming they have received it but nothing since!! Another smaller package i sent got processed within a day!!! But traded in for vouchers - to redeem online you have to pay then send in the vouchers to get the money back - did this over 3 weeks ago and nothing................. Not impressed with this company!! Traded in a few xbox games for DS - they sent voucher, he chose 2 new games but only 1 arrived! I emailed them a week later and got the reply that they coulodnt get thje other game so gave me a refund - wonder if they would of bothered if I hadnt chased them up!!!0

Oh dear, sounds the same as before. I think I'll try to sell elsewhere, I cant be doing with the stress at the minute!!

having read some of the forums on here regarding CEX i decided to post my experience hoping to gain some info on the company.
i have been using the store for a little over 3 yrs now and never had any complaints in general, i found that they were a little messy, stores where often quite crowded smelly and loud, but with the kinda people in the stores (Not all people i may add) i was not suprised, generally all was quite reasonable with the staff happy to help, i found most stores pretty good.
which brings me to the online service....
i bought a samsung i8910hd fone littlerally the day it came out,( must have been a contract sold to the store) for £395 locked to orange, i received the fone 3days later, NICE! worked a treat, used it for approx 2 months b4 getting iphone 3gs from apple, gave my girlfriend the phone a few wks later, it stopped working, when i enquired why, orange informed me it was blocked, as was either lost/stolen, (imei blocked) (Insurance scam). and was informed that i would need proof to get the handset block removed, i then contacted cex to get a reciept, which they sent within 24hrs to my email, all good so far! orange then told me the receipt needed the imei number on the receipt to prove it was this fone....got in touch with them again, and no response, left for a week, replied (politely) tht they had not replied and i needed that so i coud use fone, 2 more weeks, again another reply asking that if they could not supply a receipt with this info what are my rights as a consumer?....2 months later and still no response!!! if anyone works for cex on here what are my rights? do i have any? am i being unreasonable in emailing pleasently for a receipt! if i have any can i take the phone back to a store even tho i got it online? my nearest branch is 70miles away in edinburgh, im from highlands of scotland? can someone please advise?0 -
I recently used CeX within Lincoln where I'm currently a student. Me and my girlfriend traded in two Nintendo DS Lites for £80 in-store credit each. So, as a total we received £160 for two DS's which were over 2 years old we then proceeded to buy a new PS3 (new from game) and used the £160 to get another controller and 13 games plus we still have £33 in-store credit. After this my friend traded in his Xbox 360 Console plus his Wii and several games/controllers to receive £420 in-store credit which he used to buy a PS3 + another controller and several games too. I don't trust companies like this with big electrical goods but sometimes you can grab a great deal especially if you have stuff to trade in i.e. the Nintendo DS Lites which GAME offered us £60 for both in store credit and that was a £100 difference. The games are quite good some boxes are a bit deprived of love but they usually have several there so you can select which one looks the best. I would recommend using CeX IF you can go into store as their games are ridiculously cheap i.e. Little Big Planet for £6 and it doesn't even look like it has been used.0

Remember Gamestation will match Cex prices + £1 on each deal..........What if the Hokey Pokey really is what it's all about !!!0 -
They are crooks pure and simple.
Any company that treats its customers like dirt (very well demonstrated by the 'staff' post above) deserves to go under.0 -
Mmmm bought 5 dvds from them online (normally purchase instore, but as they didnt have the dvds I wanted plus they were cheaper than new, I went for it.) I have received 3 of the 5, three weeks later and still no sign of the other 2. In there email they state that I have to wait 28 days before I can inform them of failure to deliver.
Im beginning to wish Id never purchased online from them. Even more so after reading some of the comments on here.0 -
Just came into to warn others about CEX.
Sold them a phone in the middle of October all in working condition, it got delivered on the 19th October I used City Link courier service.
Since then I have been emailing them since they have no number to call and I have received 2 emails 2 weeks apart saying your payment is in queue to be issued. There customer service is a joke with only one email you can use to contact them0
