OS Daily Tues 15th July 08

This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning.

Bit of a late start today?

The weather is till rubbish. Misty and cool. Still saw people wearing wooly sweaters at work yesterday... where is the summer??

Off to work soon. Expecting plenty busy day. 2 of my kids have their school activity week, so they are going to the beach almost every day. So they would welcome some sun too.

Well not much else to say... enjoy your day

    Morning N9eav and everyone else.

Sorry N9eav we had nice weather yesterday, downside was the harvest bugs were out and covered everything including me. No sunshine at the moment but its meant to be quite hot today.

Have a waxing appointment first thing this morning then DD has an orthodontic one at 11am - she is in the stages of having her brace fitted hopefully wont be as painfull today as last week. She is bit of a woss and certainly knows how to moan.

This afternoon will be doing paperwork and have a small amount of ironing. Last night we had some potatoes from our garden for the first time - they were very nice, also some lettuce. Have cooked potatoes left over so will fry them tonight with bacon and egg. Am really pleased with the veg patch and it will definately be bigger for next year. Need to look on the greenfingered thread as I think the beetroot may be ready.

I am waffling this morning, so will get off now, (((hugs))) if needed.

Did the whites and colours yesterday .... all washed, ironed and correct. OH did the kitchen this morning. Did a bit of shopping yesterday evening.

Now...what to do today....I need to do some hoovering later. But will do that when OH gets home as babe hates it.

Tea...haven't worked that out yet. Sausages possibly with a few new pots and salad.

Good morning N9EAV and all who follow. Yesterday was quite nice here but when the sun went in it did feel cool. This is certainly not typical July weather even for the UK. I do hope it gets better when all the schools have broken up for the summer, on the 23rd in this area.

(((Hugs))) to Smoky, PenPin, Mrs Mix, Beth, Candygirl and her Dad Chrisca, Jayward, AnnieStar and so many others who are unwell or worried or have a lot on their plates.

    Churchmouse - :hello: :hello: :hello:

Today I have a bit more ironing to do and some more paperwork - it seems every time the post comes there's something that has to be 'actioned' as they say; you can't just read a letter and file it.

Spaghetti Bolognaise for dinner so that's easy enough.

Well, off for a mooch around here and then a shower.

    Will catch up later.

    Have a good Tuesday.

Couldy here today, haven't been outside yet, but it looks like wooly pully weather here again :o

Weigh in this morning, and I may have lost 1 lb, but all depends on how heavy my clothes are  After that, off to the library van, aren't free books wonderful :j

Bit of excitement last night, I have been bidding on something on Ebay, and managed to win it by 10p :j I think I need to get out more

Leek and bacon bake for dinner. Trying not to go near a shop as I don't need anything.

Have a good day everyone x

Thanks to Arkonite Babe for another blog to read.
Hugs to PP, Celyn, Jannie, Jay, Mrs Mix, Smokey, BethB & anyone I've forgotten.
I have only one of our students helping me so far (It's work experience week) & she is a girl who was let down by an employer at the last minute, rather than one who isn't safe to let out, so it hasn't been too bad. I am still horrified by how difficult she finds it to follow the simplest instruction, such as 'press the green button'. The only really hard part is that I only have one chair which she need, so I'm having to kneel on the floor to use my computer.
I'm having left over jerk chicken for lunch today & I need to go & scrummage in the freezer for something for tea, probably fish pie if I can find it.
I hope everyone has a good day.
    Hugs Hester
I'ts meant to be warm again today, but it is very overcast today

Morning one and all, "Weary of Wareham" reporting back in :D

I've not been around much for the past couple of weeks as I've been doing lots of sorting out and figuring out where I'm going in life, and to that end, I handed in my notice yesterday to finish at the end of this month. The Boss tried to talk me into either staying for the summer holidays or at least coming back for the last two weeks in August but tbh, I've got a life waiting to be lived up in Yorkshire and the longer I leave it to head back up there, the worse I will feel. Soooooo, in a couple of weeks I shall, in the words of the classic Lindisfarne song, "Run for home" :j :j :j

As a result of this, I've got some engineering to sort out as I have to get two trailers up there, and as the law won't allow me to tow them both behind the motorhome, I intend to "piggy-back" one on top of the other. Once I'm up with my sweet girl in 'Ull, I'll put them both in storage and sort them as and when I can. All I need then is a job!! It's looking likely that I need to dust off my HGV licence and get back to driving 18-wheelers again

To say I'm a bit excited at the thought of going back up north is an understatement as I can't wait to be away from Dorset. Nice area though it is, there's no good memories for me down here and if truth be known, I'm a bit of a Viking at heart  :D

Back to work sorting out but my thoughts are with all those who are poorly or down with life. Take it from me that the sun does shine eventually. It might take time but it will return.

    Man try :D

Debt-free as of July '09 :j and determined not to go there, ever again

    Morning all

It's a grey start here but quite warm. It was boiling yesterday, ended up taking DS out to PizzaHut for their buffet at lunchtime and then he spent time around my neighbours in their paddling pool and ended up eating a barbecue round there along with half the neighbourhood.

TO ALL NORTHERN BIRDS I call it sticky buds too despite living in the south all my life. Must be my Scottish mum.

CELYN GET YOURSELF REGISTERED PLEASE. TO BE SECTIONED YOU NEED A PSYCHIATRIST, GP AND SOCIAL WORKER TO ALL AGREE. YOUR EX IS A NASTY S*D WHO OBVIOUSLY WAS A MIND-F****R UPPER. (EXCUSE THE SWEARING).

HUGS TO ALL WHO NEED ONE TODAY.

Shall be spending today essay writing. Hope to have it finished by Friday, so excited the end of this degree is in sight.

Out to a friends house for tea tonight, shall cook spag bog for DS and OH. Have my first couselling appointment at lunchtime, don't quite know what to say really. I seem to have acquired a baby bunny. It'll be ready in 2 weeks. have chosen it as it's quite brave so hopefully little cat won't eat it!.

    Have a good day all.

    morning all,

Overcast here this morning, its supposed to be nice later, but we shall see  , will do a quick clean around this morning and 'potter' in the garden.

We have had my parents dog overnight, my mum had to go into hospital to have a camera put up her b*m, she has had a loose problem in that area for months, (sorry if tmi :D ), anyway it was all clear which is fantastic news :T , she has had cancer twice, so its always a worry, she has to have a biopsy on her liver soon, hopefully that will be clear too. So I will take their dog back this morning, and have a cupper with them.

Lamb chops, mash, cabbage, and peas for tea, will also make a chilli for tomorrow's tea, back to w**k tomorrow  .

Essex girl hope the dentist is ok for your dd x

Charlies mum, good luck at the weigh in x

Hester, could you not 'borrow' a chair from one of the classrooms ?

Hugs to smoky, pen pin, jayward chrisca, candy, squigly, aussie, and all the ill or just in need of a hug :D

    Have good days all xx
