:hello: Hello all, sorry I've been AWOL for 3 days. Just was NOT well enough to go online Friday. Don't worry, it's par for the course with me, back to "normal" (whatever that is) now.

We had a busy weekend; Saturdays are usually taken up with the jobs I can no longer manage on my own, as Mr LW is around to help me then. We even had a mad fling and washed the sofa covers!

Yesterday we went to one of these Country Show things; great fun, but very tiring, even though I was in the wheelchair. I had the dubious pleasure of being checked over by a drug sniffer dog - they were doing a demonstration and wanted volunteers, so I took myself (complete with wheelchair) into the ring to be sniffed. No, they didn't find anything!:rotfl: I also won a Limited Edition picture of bird of prey; the draw took place after we'd left, so they phoned Mr LW to let him know, and we have to pop over to the chap's house to collect it this evening.

I've been busy doing a load of baking today (again!!! not sure where it all disappears to..... I'm guessing it has to be going into Mr LW, as I'm not noshing it all, and there's only the 2 of us here......) So I'd probably better rest for a while now, or I'll not be able to go with him to collect my prize later.

Hope all is going as well as possible for everyone.

Hi all. Donny-Gal - you must have been watching! I'm glad your visits to the bathroom have slowed down!

Kaat - I think you made us all reach the same conclusion! Bra, pants, sticky willy and plasterer! You shouldn't do that to us!

    (((Hugs))) to Candygirl.

PenPin - how is your DH?

Dazi - good luck with the interview.

Winniepooh - I hope you get that sorted out; I'd be livid, too.

Celyn - you must pluck up the courage to go; why don't you write a letter first so that they are acquainted with your details then, when you do visit, you won't feel that you have to explain everything to them? You have as much right to talk and be listened to as anyone else. Please go - you may be so glad you did.

Well, I have finally done the ironing although there's a bit more on the line. DH has been told off though; he did some laundry while he was staying at his brother's and put everything in together so two of his white t-shirts have now gone a murky grey colour. He said he didn't notice but, when I produced one that I'd last washed he could see the difference. He can't not know, surely? Oh, well - they're all little boys, really, aren't they?

Well, months after I first applied for a tax rebate from two years ago, and after they had lost my first form and received a snotty letter from me, I have finally had a cheque from the lovely people at HMRC! Besides it being good to actually get the money it stops me waiting for it, IYKWIM, and planning my next letter to them.

The weather has been lovely all day but is now very overcast - they didn't predict rain in this area but I think they were lying - it looks like it will tip down at any moment.

Anyway, (((hugs))) to the poorly ones. There seems to be as many bugs doing the rounds now as there is in the winter.

    See you later.

CELYN, I think you must've posted your last entry whilst I was typing mine! Do please try to pluck up the courage to talk to the doc. I understand how you feel - I still get horrible butterflies in my tummy at the very thought of doctors, and what I do is jot down the bare bones of what I want to say, and when I get there, I tell the doc straight out that I'm nervous, so to please be patient.

    hello everyone

Kaat Lady - I too was marvelling over how dangerously you werer living with the plasterer able to walk in on your semi-naked state at any moment. How I laughed when I read he's also oyur husband!!!

I had the plasters are mine today as well - they did a great job and were in and out in about 20 mins - but they weren't good looking enough to tempt me into my underwear - and would have got a bit of a shock if I had. My bump is starting to show now!!!

Red Ruby My mum had a recipe froma friend for ZUcchini bread and it was amazing, i think the italians and americans call corgettes zucchini's don't they? I would LOVE the recipe to try out.

I need to do some food shopping. I've decided to try and buy a few bits every few days so we stop wasting food, but all ideas and inspiration have completely escaped me this afternoon. I tackled the HUGE ironing and washing mountain this morning and that's completely tired me and my brain out :D So i think we are going to have the baked potatoes rolling around the fridge with the end of the cheese, some tuna for DH and whatever else I can find......

the supermarket will have to be tomorrow's challenge.

so many of you seem to have the lurgy at the moment - I do hope that it clears up soon. Keep warm and drink lots of fluids!!!!

Kaat, I too, was nearly on the floor laughing at the plasterer upstairs, sticky willy, you in your underwear and it being your husband-that was well funny.
Celyn (((((hugs))))) to you, I have no idea about your situation but I can empathise how difficult it must be for you. As others have said you really should pluck up the couragew to see a doctor.
Candygirl, thank you so much for the recipe...and the thread... I have now subscribed to it and when I look like the side of a house from all the lovely recipes I have just printed off I shall be looking for the weight loss thread!!!!! I have been wanting the impossible pie recipe for ages and there it was on the same page as the weetabix loaf. So thank you so much Candygirl. You're a gem!!

DD(14) came into our bedroom at 7a.m. with a migraine so have been keeping here home and generally looking after her this morning.

She is looking a bit better now and has kept fluids down and just eaten some home made Scotch pancakes.

Having a big pot of lentil soup with home made bread for tea and might see if she can manage some.

Since getting my new BM the strong flour is being used up at a alarming rate.

Might go out and get some more after tea.

    Hugs to everybody!

I just Googled "sticky willy", as I'd not heard of it, and got the following:
    Cleavers
    Scientific Name : Galium aparine
Other names: Beggar's lice, Catchweed Bedstraw, Cleaverwort, Everlasting Friendship, Goose grass, Grip Grass, Scratch grass, Stick-a-back, Sticky Willie, Scarthgrass, Sticky-willy, White Hedge
    Family: Rubiaceae

It's what I've always known as Cleavers, and according to one of my books on herbology, the roasted seeds can be used as a coffee substitute.

There you go.... a bit of useless information for you! :rotfl:

Thank you (all of you) :) The difficultly is is that the only practice that would take me is a training practice - so the staff are involved in the University, only work one day a week - which is why I hoped the other one would take me - that and they were recommended. My ex is a doctor, so they aren't going to believe me, even though my last GP was quite clear in my notes about his behaviour - he'd marched in and had a go at him before. :( I avoided going for so long because of the things he used to say - he told me once that I risked getting sectioned. It's rubbish I know as I've not ever done anything that would risk that, but it's made me really really wary. I never want to get into the situtation where I have to face him professionally, so I just got on with it. :)
