OS Daily for Monday 14th July 2008

This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Good morning everyone! I was MIA yesterday due to getting up later than usual, having tons of DH's washing to do and then lots of visitors during the day! I haven't read any of yesterday's thread yet and will try and catch up with it later.

(((Hugs))) to Smoky, PenPin, Chrisca, Mrs Mix, Beth, AnnieS, Jayward and anyone else who is poorly or anxious or just wants one.

DH got in from the ferry on Saturday at around 11pm then, two cups of good ole British tea and a long hot bath later, we ended up going to bed at around 1am so slept in later than usual in the morning. I didn't really catch up with myself all day after that!

DS2 and his bride-to-be came round in the afternoon having been to church for the first reading of the banns; they want us to go with them for the other two but I have DGD's ballet production next Sunday so we'll go to the church with them the following Sunday. The wedding is getting so close now - I can hardly believe all those months have gone by since they announced they were getting married. Fortunately, DH and I are more or less kitted out - I'm just waiting for the hot pink tie I ordered for him on eBay and I shall match that up to some fabric to make a handkerchief for his top pocket.

Well, not much more to report really; back to the grindstone today with DH sorting out work and me doing my work and catching up with the wedding favours plus a huge pile of ironing.

The forecast is supposed to be good for today; it's about time, it's been so gloomy and cold lately, hasn't it?

Anyway, off for a shower; will catch up later.

Hugs to Smoky, PenPin I hope you keep well, Chrisca, Mrs Mix, Beth, AnnieS, Jayward & Candy.
Bright & sunny here & the forecast is for 25 degrees, add a few extra to my office for all the machinery running, I'll be spending the day in my sauna.
The meal went off ok yesterday & there are enough leftovers for packups for me for most of the week & tea for tonight. Hubby's stepdad talked unadulterated bo**ocks for he entire visit, he even said my birdtable wouldn't attract any birds as my house is to high????? It's a standard small end of terrace. Mind you, he's always talking about how he was brought back from Canada as he was the only person with enough information to sort out D Day, he was 8 at the time!
Work is reaching the manic stage, work experience week is coming up & those kids who can't be trusted get dumped in with me, deep joy, huge workload & 6 disgruntled teens to look after.
I have 5000 newsletters to produce by Wednesday, but no information yet as to what is going in them, I then need to count them into 28's unfortunately the teens I have 'helping' me will not be able to count to 10, nevermind 28!
I hope everyone has a good day.
    Hugs Hester

    Morning all,

Bright and sunny here, will go on the hunt for some washing to do, dd's bed needs changing ours was done yesterday, so will get that done and on the line, will also have a good clean through, and do an internet shop, also need to do some baking, might make a weetbix cake, which sounds nice and i have never made before.

We had a nice day yesterday, dd and I nipped up to mr T for gold paper for her crown for drama, it was reduced to 24p a roll, so I got 4, which will hopefully do for xmas as well, we then went out for a walk, and home for roast lamb which was delish.

I then did a bit of pottering aroung in the garden, which is starting to look good, a nice hot bath, glass of wine then early night. I love the weekends, but they go so quick, still only 5 more days of the school run :T

Hugs to smoky, pen pin, beth, jayward candy and chrisca.

Kathy glad your hubbie got back ok,

    Have good days all xx

Work today but only 4 more get-ups after this one! I think it's going to be a manic week though......roll on Friday!:D

    At least it isn't raining........yet!

I didn't wake up until the alarm today which is GOOD - just when 4.30 am and I were becoming such good friends, I seem to have caught the knack of sleeping through.

Still no news from OH. He's playing mind games. I'm not joining in.

Have a great OS week, hugs to all in need and keep smiling!

    Morning everyone!

Sunny here in the Capital! I've just put the ironing away (exciting!), all after school clubs have finished, so only dancing and swimming lessons left this week before we go away. I have started doing a list of things I want to take and make sure all the jobs are done in the house!

Essex-girl - We've got a school fun day on wednesday, so I hope the weather stays dry unlike last week's disaster rainy day at the school trip!

Time to go water the hanging baskets my busy lizzies are drooping! cant have that can we?:rotfl:

Have a great monday all xx

    Good morning

I had a very productive day yesterday. Got all the bedclothes washed, dried and put away as well as all the other washing that had accumulated since Thursday. I also made some ginger and marmalade cake and some date and banana bars as well as a wholemeal loaf in the BM. The bathroom was given a good clean and the kitchen too. I even managed to get the case out and its sitting airing in my bedroom ready for the clothes to be packed later this week.

After all that hard work I treated myself to a West Wing-fest. I managed to watch the second half of Season 6 and the first 2 discs of Season 7. That meant I spent all night dreaming about Jimmy Smits, Alan Alda and Bradley Whitford (he of my avi). As I couldn't win the Presidential Election for Jimmy in my dreams :D , I ended up getting up very early and I'm now completely organised for the day ahead.

W**k will be frantic today as I will be away from the office for a week next week and my boss acts as though I will be away for 3 months. So, he likes to get as much as humanly possible done before I go away (even though he will be away for 3 weeks and will not make the same effort then). Still, if he asks me to w**k tomorrow I shall have to say no as I have too much still to do.

Have a marvellous Monday everyone. xx
