Just wondered if anyone has made a curry in the Remoska? I usually use chicken pieces, curry paste, stock, tinned tomatoes, onions and any other vegies and let simmer on hob... will probably try anyway as everything else seems to be coming out so well!

It should work fine - there is a recipe for a potato & green bean curry in the Remoska cookery book. I even made it (and it is delicious), but I used my pressure cooker instead of the Remoska as it is quicker.

I have the grand size.I bought the rack but decided that the pans were just too costly for what they were and so I got two different cake pans at TK MAX.They only cost me £3.99 and £4.50 each and are not too different to the deep and shallow pans and are realy sturdy.I also bought a silicone mat to cut to size to line the base incase I need it when baking in it.That was only £2.50 so I was quite pleased with myself.I just would'nt pay the price of the deep and shallow pans I think they are so overpriced.

I got a sheet of Teflon non stick cooking mat from Home Bargains for £1.99 - presume this is OK to cut to size to save pan getting scratched.

Do you just put the cake pans in the large pan and use to separate say potatoes from meat?

Thanks Champys - could you share that recipe please? I'm going to Solihull next week and think the recipe book will be on my list from Lakeland!

No problem - it is really simple. You start by putting a sliced onion, some fresh ginger in some oil in the Remoska and cook until soft (it says 20 mins, that sounds quite long to me though). Then you add some curry paste (the recipe states 2 tbsp but I use only about half of that), and 300 ml hot water. Next step: add fresh green beans (200 g), potatoes cut into cubes (400 g), and 3 tomatoes in slices. Season to taste. Cook for 45 minutes or thereabouts - stir once during cooking. Curry is ready once the potatoes are done.

Will try this tonight along with the two chicken breasts I have defrosting - should make them stretch a bit further, which is great as DD just told me her friend in now staying for tea! Will let you know how it goes. Thanks again Champys x

Still haven't used the oven since buying my remoska last weekend!

Made dough in panny yesterday, then put it in remoska and just turned it on, 25 mins later perfect rolls, didn't even need to give them a second rising! I love it!

I agree, rolls are lovely in the Remoska - like scones, better than in the oven, I think.

It also does an excellent deep dish pizza, which I'm going to make again tonight.

I've bought a rack, but haven't used it yet. The Remoska's been used every day since it was bought, though.

I got a jar of madras sauce and marinated some chicken breast in it in the fridge then I'll put oil, garlic, onions in the remoska, cook for a few mins then chuck in, try and fit the rice in seperator if it will all go in. I'll let you know how it goes.

Hubby is making stuffed vine leaves and I'm going to cook them tomorrow.

Welcome to the forums gairlochgal! I fry garlic, onions in oil the fry meat and chuck in the sc with carrot, celery, tomatoes and whatever leftovers I've got in. Worcester sauce is nice with beef, lemon zest and rosemary with chicken etc... I am going to do more stews in the remoska now and see how it goes over the winter.

    Afternoon All

Have used my Remoska for the first time and it was a success. Ok wasnt gourment food but did bacon and eggs - put bacon in & forgot about it for about 20 mins, then put eggs direct into the bottom and they were perfect - I hate frying eggs. There was no horrible smell and no messy hob to clean - brilliant.

Am trying plain lamb chops in there tonight.
