Had a look at them in Lakeland and am still unsure about what size to get. We like our roasts with lots of roast potatoes and occasionally roast parsnips too, so I'm thinking we need a grand. But then there are only 3 of us, so is a grand stupid for all those other occasions when we're not doing a roast with all the trimmings. I wish I was more decisive LOL.

Been itching to use my new toy all day so just baked some fairy cakes in there.
I've taken a pic, not to show my culinary skills (or lack of!) :o but to give others an idea of the size of the Grande Remoska because, if you are anything like me, it is hard to visualise.
I just managed to fit in 12 silicone cake cases.
Some did come out more golden than others but the anaemic looking ones are cooked as well and once iced nobody will know! :D
One thing that is an improvement on my baking is there are no "domes" rising up in the middle. :T
Still have the taste test to do....

Hi 2catsikid, I bought the grand last week and if you do roasts etc then I would recommend it. I managed to fit in a medium sized chicken and spuds and it was just about right.

    Hope that helps

PS I've bravely posted after long time lurking!

    Thanks Clutterfree!

It took about an hour and half - a good half hour less than my ancient gas cooker. The chicken was fantastic - I did use the rack for this and have found that anything that needs crisping is best done on this. As many others have said the spuds were excellent cooked underneath.
  • I think we have decided on the Grand one but do they sell a seperator or can I just make a wet dish (stew, curry etc) in a seperate dish in the re with spuds etc underneath?

    Thanks

    xx

PP can't help with your question as I am new to this! lol
I know you were concerned about the weight of the lid.
I tried to weigh it for you which wasn't easy as it is a lot bigger than my scales but I got a reading of between 1.5 - 1.7kg for the Grande lid.

PS I am sure Lakeland would be able to give you a weight if you called them.

    Hi everyone,

one word of warning...remoskas do get VERY HOT, so please be extra careful when they are on. I have managed to burn my arm on mine and am having to visit the nurse to have it dressed every couple of days now. I am partially sighted now, which makes me more likely to have accidents, but I wouldn't want it to happen to anyone else.
