I popped out this afternoon and my daughter didn't open the door to parcelnet-they had tried to deliver my Mosky! Boo hoo-I will probably have to wait until at least Tuesday now and could have been playing all weekend!Tomorrow is always fresh, with no mistakes in it!0

...shame about not getting your remoska SuziQ...
Well, the curry was gorgeous, they cleared the decks! I managed to fit 1 cupful of rice and 2 cupfuls of boiling water in the separator pan, curry in the deep pan, it all fit in ok, I took the rice out and let the curry cook for another 5 mins, served with homemade mango chutney and yoghurt. I don't normally use sauces in a jar but it was nice, I added a tin of red kidney beans to it.
I made 2 cakes today and they have turned out ok, I made a choc cake but I think I took it out too soon as it sank before my very eyes! Never mind, I melted some choc and butter and iced it and decorated it with fresh strawberries ready for visitors tomorrow and it looks nice, I also did a cherry cake out of Mary Berry's baking book and left it in longer and it didn't sink this time, it rose right to the top just under the glass window! Can't wait to eat them! As the cakes were out of bounds I HAD to do some muffins (out of the bero book) and they are so easy, just mash the marg into the flour with a fork, add eggs, sugar and some jam and then put into muffin cases, they took around 20-25 mins in the remoska and came out perfect, good job I'm not in the olympics with all this eating!!
I love this thread, please keep posting and letting us know all your recipes and to the newbies, looking forward to your posts too!

Tonight we had bits of duck breast (came from Mr T some time ago, a 'bottom of the freezer' find) which I marinaded in a BBQ sauce (James Martin's recipe from the BBC site) and then put in the Remoska on the rack for about 20 mins. We had with potatoes and an aubergine bake I did in MW but rice would have been nicer. OH liked it a lot and I thought that chicken or pork cut in strips would be very nice (and quick) done same way. I put a bit of silicone stuff on base of R pan as I thought the BBQ sauce might get sticky and hard to clean, but it was fine and I needn't have bothered.
I LOVED the choc strawberry cake, I haven't been brave enough to try a cake yet, but perhaps tomorrow's the day !0 -
Sorry, forgot to ask: Desperate Housewife, did you make the cakes just in the pan, or in a cake tin in the pan, and what size remoska do you have please ?0
-
Just tried flapjack but cooked it in my usual tin that I would use in the oven just put it inside the Remoska instead and cooked for 20 mins as the recipe said but it was very overcooked. My own fault I suppose as I forgot to look at it whilst it was cooking, unexpected visitors called. How long has anyone else cooked flapjack for and should I not have used a normal oven cake tin - should I have just cooked it in the pan?0

Hi Morganlefay, I did the cakes directly in the remoska pan with the magic cake tin liner from Lakeland (it fits exactly) I have the standard one.Save £12k in 2012 no.49 £10,250/£12,000

Looks fab DH! :j
I'd have to use a cake tin in my Grand, I think as it would be rather large and flat otherwise!
Has anyone done an omelette yet please?
If so, how long and do you need use oil and turn it ?
Thanks.Ageing is a privilege not everyone gets.

Sorry for late repy - that took a couple of minutes & they were lovely, was worried that the yolk would go hard but it was just right. I hate cooking eggs, mine always break & DS hates it if they are crispy on the bottom.
Used the Remoska for lamb chops last night but didnt give them long enough but then it was only the second time I used it. Have ordered some silicone cake & muffin cases from Amazon and next week when they arrive will make choc chip muffins our favourite - our oven never cooked them nicely so hoping that the remoska does.
Desperate - that is a very impressive cake.0
