  • I popped into lakeland today. was very sad I hadn't got the grand but for most things it is perfect :) Just wish I could fit my shepherds pie dish in :D
  • Hi, just bought one (stadard( and I love it!!!!!
  • Hi All again.

My chelsea buns came out absolutely perfectly and tasted gorgeous! I let them rise in the moska turning it on for 3mins at start to kick start rising and those things doubled in size. Cooked for about 20mins once risen. All my boys (I include DH) were very impressed and it was devoured very quickly.
The last time I made chelsea buns was at school and I don't care to let on how long that was! I never made them again because of how fiddly they were ... that is until now. OOhh I love gadgets!

haha megmog, school is the last time I made chelseabuns too (yonks ago). You've made me want to try again - off to find recipe now. I'm going to have to watch my wasteline with this remoska:rotfl: .
DH - hope you are surviving your non remoska day:D
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once
  • I did a chicken casserole in mine tonight - not really any different from doing it in my le creuset on the hob but SO much easier to clean. Had DD2 drying for me and she was really surprised that there was just one light pot to deal with!
  • This is what I did the other night.

Marinade (in remoska) some salmon fillets in some soy sauce, half teaspoon of ground ginger, half teaspoon of medium curry powder, chopped garlic clove, half a chicken stock cube and some water from a recently boiled kettle. Add a chopped bunch of spring onions.
Marinade for as long as you want then cook until salmon is ready. The marinade reduces down when cooking and intensifies the flavour.

Serve on a bed of rice with peas.

All my boys devoured it including my 18 month old. Will definitely be cooking this again.

BTW Tesco are doing a pack of 8 frozen alaskan salmon fillets for just £5 at the moment.
  • I have been reading this forum with lots of interest - tonight I almost got my credit card out to order the Remoska online ............ but tonight I got to page 26 of this forum and someone mentioned a Bravoska ???? ......... doesn't take much to confuse me LOL

I googled Bravoska ...... have to say its prettier ....... cook from either top or bottom ......... have to wonder if it might be superior ?

I glean from reviews that the instructions are very sparse ....... but once people get the gist with trial and error they think its terrific and its considerably cheaper than a Remoska to buy

I guess what I'm expecting from you lot is some honesty ........ are you making the best of your Remoska but wish you bought a Bravoska ?

I don't have a sweet tooth so cakes are not my bag ...... take all the cake recipes out of the equation ???

I'm soooooooo tempted to buy the Remoska but can't help wondering if Lakelands marketing power has managed to dwarf a superior product because Bravoska lack the backing ?

Just my thoughts .......... but I'm itching to buy some alternative to turning that big oven on !!!
  • forgot to say .......... bravoska uses more power but still has to be an improvement on the main oven ?

just one of the comparison sites I've visited :- http://www.motorhomefacts.com/ftopicp-198383.html
  • Never used a Bravoska so couldn't tell you if they are any good but one of the (many) advantages of the Remoska is the savings compared to a traditional electric oven. From what I've read about the Bravoska the wattage of the large one is 1700 watts! Compare that to 650 watts for the Grand Remoska. Over time i'm suspecting that's a rather large saving.
    Call me Carmine....

HAVE YOU SEEN QUENTIN'S CASHBACK CARD??
  • hi ive heard of the bravoska and did consider it before deciding on the remoka - if i remember right the bravoska is almost the same but the lid is solid allowing you to fry on it or brown on it - the main things that swayed me to a remoska was the difference in power consumption - the lack of feedback from users - its not as well made - and a big plus was lakelands brilliant customer service as witnessed on this thread and every other thread involving lakeland

all i can say is that my remoska is fantastic and is used daily (doing ciabatta rolls this morning) and even though initially quite an outlay its saving me money not only in reduced electricity but the fact that i now cook so much more than i used to - take aways are almost non existent and i now avoid supermarket ready meals as i can batch cook much better ones myself.

i suspect the best advise i can give you is go for it - and if you dont like it lakeland will refund you without a quibble and theres not many shops that do that!!!
