  • my latest successful recipe is for a massive deep crumble. Halved, stoned plums, pears, baking apple. I used 2 punnets of cheap plums and a whole bag of cheap pears and 1 baking apple. Dash of something (amaretto?) sugar. Cook 20 mins first. Buttery crumble on top and bake. Really nice and lasts for a few days
  • cake was lovely and beef stew with mash went down a treat!

  • Hi,

I tried toad in the hole tonight which came out really well - also a rice pudding which was very rich and creamy - another two successes!!

  • CarolineW - a quiche case takes about 10 minutes in a conventional oven. Should think it would be about the same in the Remoska although I have never done one.

Just cook it until the pastry looks dry and firm, that should be OK.

I cooked a joint of pork in my grand remmy yesterday and the lid now has terrible discolouration around the edges it reminds me of how chip pans used to go. Whatever it is its just not budging:confused:

    Hi LouiseJ,

Before proceeding I should introduce myself - I'm Adrian and I'm the web editor at Lakeland. I'm no expert when it comes to the Remoska (I haven't bought one yet but I'm sure I'll succumb one day) but please give Customer Services a call on 015394 88100 and if they can't help you with removing the discolouration then we'll send you a replacement, or a refund if you prefer.

I've noticed that a number of people have been wondering whether to buy a Remoska or not. I have one thing to say - remember our Guarantee. If you purchase any item from us and you're not satisfied just let us know and we'll give you your money back. It sounds too good to be true but there it is! As we say, it's probably the simplest guarantee in the world :-)

And I'm sure many of you have already found this but for those of you just starting out with the Remoska there are a number of recipes on our site that you may wish to try:

    Happy cooking!

PS Please let me know how you get on with the discolouration issue. Thanks.

  • My remoska arrived today:j but when I opened it carefully, (reverently) I found the small black handle on the lid was broken.

I rang up and they are despatching me a new one overnight tonight

And picking up other one in the next three days. I told her I felt awful and was worried that they would stop selling them if they spent all their time picking them up and replacing them. She said not to worry.:T

Just had a rubbish tea again and will wait for my new one tomorrow, or today actually:cool:

Have just been sat rubbing the boxes of all the bits I ordered to go with it. :rotfl:

how nice to hear from lakeland direct! I would comment on the guarantee. I had a problem with a remoska I bought well over a year ago - after it had been on for an hour, it tripped the electricity. I rang Lakeland for advice and they immediately offered me a new one. As I'd bought it at the shop in Newcastle and don't have an account with them for phone or online orders I thought i'd have to go there with it, but they picked the old one up and delivered a new one - to my work address which was easier for me.
  • I made lamb hotpot yesterday with leftover roast shoulder - layer of potatoes, then onions carrots roast lamb thyme and lamb stock, then another layer of potatoes. Took over an hour to go nice and crispy but was EVER so tasty. Am a total convert :D

Only thing is-they sent me a new stand and the pan still wobbles-do you think it could be the pan itself that is a problem? no obvious damage to it :(

Adrian - great to hear from you! I can certainly vouch for the superb Lakeland customer service, which hopefully I am repaying by telling as many people as I can amount the remoska. As you can see, there are a few problems for some with lids fitting etc, but overall we all absolutely love our moski's:D
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once
