Hi
I have just spent 1 hour on the phone cancelling my 3 contract. They have agreed to the cancellation and send they would text the pac number. They would not give me one over the phone. Pac code has not yet been texted, did anyone else get theres by text? I'm wondering whether I have just been fobbed off. Please advise as I don't want to have to phone up again if I can help.0 -

I phoned 333, spoke to the "if you're thinking of leaving 3" department. Spoke to an advisor, told him about the DD charge going up, and how from next month I would not be wanting to pay by DD because of changing my bank account to one that would not do DD...
...he said I could pay in a 3 store for free. I told him this was not acceptable, asked to speak to a supervisor. Was told the supervisor was busy. I insisted and suddenly he had become free.
I told him the position, he said he did not know what to do but would find out.
Got a voicemail from him the next day asking me to call the Glasgow exec office.
Called them, they issued the pac code there and then.
Done.
What is the Glasgow Exec Office number? I want to moan at them for not replying to my Recorded Delivery letter!0 -

do you mean you upgraded your video talk and text ?
or did you take out a new contract on a different tariff ?
what contract are you on now ?
sounds like the upgrade I got. was on vtt700 from april 07 for 12 months. 3 offer me upgrade in jan 08 vtt500 for 12 months commencing april 08 but handset sent to me in jan. same mobile number and account number0 -
i'm slightly annoyed that the video talk and text tariffs seem to have still been available to people when I was told quite definitely last december that they had been discontinued.0

well not really. you can't just tell them you've cancelled the direct debit and that you want to cancel your contract because the charge is too expensive.
much like bill, i don't have much of a choice in the matter as my basic bank bank account doesn't do direct debit ..0 -
just got off the phone with the call centre. Spoke to the manager, and he told me that the terms and conditions have always contained a clause that three reserve the right to increase the charge for non-direct debit payment as long as they notify the customers.
which, as we know, means that legally they are covered no matter when they send the letter.
explained my situation, with my account no longer accepting DD's, and they told me it was no grounds to cancel and simply offered to credit my account with £12 to cover the next 12 months.
So bill must have gotten incredibly lucky, or there's more to the story than meets the eye.0 -
My contract has been cancelled for FREE!! :rotfl:
Not happy though how they've started the 30 day notice period 10 days after they received my letter  He gave me some BS how they need to ring to make sure for data protection purposes that it's really me. I couldn't really be arsed spending more hours waiting in a queue and/or sending letters, just for the sake of 10 days.
Info: My contract began in June 2007 and was an 18 mth contract.0 -
I upgraded my phone and was told i would still be on vtt700 at a discounted rate.... However they put me on vtt500 at the normal rate with extra texts... which worked out the same as the discount rate they were giving to me.... They renewed the contract so it will end march 09.
What i want to know is have i got a leg to stand on to cancel my contract over the billing minute issue

Not really headline news - anyone who's contract started before October last year can cancel with no issues.0
