Mioliere- your post about P & P made me think of my Dad, he has a Zulu DVD he must watch at least once a week

Stef - That sucks about having shingles! Hope you make a speedy recovery

Speaking of politics, when IS the next election - I presume next year. It will be the first time I've ever voted (last time, I missed out on it because I was a month short of 18!). I worry that everyone will not want to vote Labour for obvious reasons, or Tory...for obvious reasons, so will just vote UKIP or something for a joke and then they'll get in!

Anyway, I'm knackered. Teach me for moaning about being quiet at work, it was really busy, and I had to stay an extra half an hour because I had messed up an order (annoyingly, the truck had *just* left, so one of our customers is going to be missing a fair few boxes)

Plan for tonight is just chilling out I think. Will sling some dinner on in a minute (pie and chips :D), then probably an early night as want to go to carboot tomorrow.

    have a good one

(((((((((Chrisca))))))))) Sorry to hear of your loss xxx

On the whole I've had a good day. Did the shopping this morning, and a little pottering in the garden. Pasta salad for lunch. I had a bit of a critical/selfish/negative head on at lunch time but a nice talk with OH sorted me out and I felt much better afterwards. This afternoon I helped OH's DD1 with something she wanted to "bake" - it's one of those chocolate plus crushed biscuits plus other goodies-type-thingys. It was lovely doing something that was mainly the two of us and we had a good time. Plus, it was a recipe from her friend who had named it "Alex cake" - DD1 typed up the instructions and in the process re-named it using our names, which I was quite touched by.

Then we've been to OH's sister's for a BBQ (we ate inside - not quite warm enough outside), and after 3 large glasses of wine I'm now a bit tipsy. I've been making a fair few spelling errors as I type and will be impressed if I post this without any!:D

Have a lovely evening all xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Thank you all very much for your kind wishes, it's a big comfort. Went up to my mum's flat today to tidy up a bit after yesterday and start clearing a few things out. While I was there I checked her computer to see if she had managed to look at the pics that I sent her of new DGD and she HAD seen them before she died, which made me happy, and yes, it seems she did wait for her to arrive safely before leaving us.

Am going to be at home tomorrow and just potter about as I can see it being a very busy week for me.

(((hugs))) to you all for caring

Stefejb...so sorry to hear that you have shingles...if you were here I could get you sorted over the weekend...failing that allegedly vitamin B is a great help....won't do any harm and may help, shingles are supposed to be caused by stress, think that's the connection. Take care of you

Shez...would love to meet up if it can work...when are you coming...if you're heading for Kilkenny you will be passing within a mile of me, but am sure I can get to wherever you are meeting Snowy...weekend 26/27 July is out but don't think that I'm tied up apart from that...pm me with your schedule

    Night all

Sat here waiting for the AirCon to cool off the bedroom so I hopefully will get some kip. It's a bit sticky tonight and still 26 atm outside, and even warmer in with all windows and doors open and all fans on. Ended up outside in the shade on sunbeds this p.m. again to catch up on some sleep, there was a lovely breeze. Sorry I know some of you would love dry weather let alone dry warm weather.

Stef - Big Hugs I've had shingles twice, both times on my face, second time I recognised it, and went flying to the dr. so was very lucky, but it is not nice at all, and very painful. Can you not get any treatment for it at all?
