Chrisca I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. It's extremely hard to lose your Mum but at least she's not in pain now. Hope you get through the next week ok.

I wonder where Twink & Kyle are? It's OK, you didn't offend us. :D

Claero You must be a great sewer to make your own wedding dress. I bet that will bring you so much satisfaction. Let us know the pattern & material you decide so we can all have a sticky. :D

Well I've had tea & showered. Off to watch absolute rubbish on the TV. Byeeeeeeee
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

PenPen I'm choosing to read your post about political comments as being positive (I think you may have missed a "not" out somewhere - least I hope so!) :D I try not to get too political but the situation in Zimbabwe seems so hopeless and I really feel for the innocents who inevitably end up bearing the brunt. I'll shut up now. :o
(((hugs))) to those who need them.

Ooooooops :o Yes, it was meant to be positive - I've edited it to correct it now :o I susally keep quiet about my politics, but the way that food prices are going, we have no choice - make changes in our lifestyles and show our concerns at the ballot box. ATM politics is being dominated by food and energy prices, so as I said, it has a place on the Old Style Daily, as long as posts are broadly Old Style based. I have a friend who came second in a very recent high-profile election ;) so every vote is noticed - the winning candidate was certainly made to take notice of her :T

Meal plan has had a major change - our best friends have rung to say that yet again, they've been let down at the last minute, and need a couple who don't mind being late additions to a party, if they get a free meal out of it :rotfl: :rotfl: They also need some people who have a wide range of interests and are good company :rotfl: :rotfl: That;s us then - free dinner tomorrow :T :j So I'll be talking about hens, pigs, and cooking from scratch - that'll be enough :D

Chrisca, hugs to you and your family.

Welcome back Troo, how are the piggies doing?
Catowen, I'm so pleased that your DD had fun, not only is she showing leadership, she has also proved what a good judge of character she is by not staying at OH's.
Rzl, happy birthday for yesterday, enjoy Paris.
Mioliere, enjoy the last few hours of freedom.

My political comment for today.....my neighbour didn't come last in the bye-election. :D I had wondered if we were going to have the press on the doorstep, trying to catch a picture of his wife in her dressing gown. :D Personally I do think he has a very valid point in his campaign and the group he is part of.

Not been doing too much OS recently, although I did dye my own hair the other day....a fetching shade of blue/black. It's not a permanent colour...so it will be interesting to see what it fades too.

Aussie...thanks for the picture of N9eav

I might make some more Twinks today, I sent some to my dad's friend who lives on his own, he sent me some fillet steak in return. :rotfl:

    Hugs to all :grouphug:

  • Morning Guys!

Not alot going on here as OH still quite poorly. He has gone back to bed. I am waiting for it to start raining as my joints have all seized up, so have taken some extra pain meds. I am back in hospital Monday, so really dont want to cath what OH has, so will try and keep away from him:rotfl:

DD and I have been watching Saturday kitchen and she made an omelette with bacon that needed using, onion and cheddar....it was lovely.

DW has just finished and DD will empty soon. No washing as all caught up yesterday. Toilet cleaned and house clean and tidy.

We are away next Saturday for a week, so yesterday did a shopping order from Ocado as I found a £15off voucher and have that coming the Friday we are back. They have some good offers on but have stocked up on alot of cupboard and freezer items. The total came to £70.00 inc delivery but there is loads there and over the next few weeks I want to use up what we have in.

Our freezer and fridge are playing up in the kicthen (have a huge freezer in shed) so are looking at the big American style FF's as we drink alot of chilled water and extra space would come in handy. I like the black ones but they are around £900 in John Lewis but come with a 3yr guarantee. It will also mean that we have to move my glass display units in the kitchen and loose a cupboard...so not sure what to do really:confused: ...its a lot of money but wont be doing anything too soon anyway. Im not sure if its false economy though?

Anyway, I had better go and see if OH wants some soup and toast.

    ((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((smokey)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

    Hugs to all.

Chrisca, so very sorry to hear of your loss. Must have been an awful shock. (((hugs)))) Give that darling DGD of yours an extra long cuddle, and know that your mum is smiling on the pair of you. There really is lots of help out there regarding the aftermath of a death. When mum died, we found the registrar was brilliant at advising what had to be done.

It's overcast and chilly at the moment, then the sun comes out and it warms up:rolleyes: My cardi has been on and off so many times today, it must feel dizzy:D
It hasn't rained but I don't know whether to risk the washing or not. Yesterday I put it out, we got a shower, I ran out, got it all off the line, then as I dashed down the path, the rain stopped:rotfl:

Boiled a gammon knuckle yesterday, so off to make soup with the stock and some of the meat in a minute. I know it should be pea and ham, but DH likes lentil and ham, so I'll indulge him again;)

Welcome troo, you'll like it here, oh of course you know that already:rotfl: Did you really want a spelling change that badly:D

PenPen , well done on the free dinner:T DH and I are never offended by being 1st reserves either, you can't invite everyone to everything:D

Shez is another I haven't seen for a while. You OK? She's not on hols yet is she?

Off for a surf, CM x

    Hello everyone

Chrisca - I'm very sorry to hear about your mother.

Kazwookie - I congratulate myself if I get all that done in a single day, never mind all done before 9.00am. You're showing me up!!

Katiesmummy - I wouldn't bother giving that horrible blokey your box thingy either. People like that really irritate me - manners are free.

Churchie - well done on your reverse rain dance:rotfl:

It's holiday season here in N.Ireland - traditionally here people go away around the 12th of July, I'll not go into it, it's political - and where I live is like a ghost town. Most people seem to have escaped. I love love love the peace and quiet!!!

Kaat-Lady - I'm waiting for Aussie to show us the pictures of N9eav holding his catch in the air and of him coming out of the water. He does have a rather delicious botty.

The weather is non-eventful today - not raining, not sunny, not windy, not hot, not cold....just a bit overcast and dull. But I like that, good for gardening in. I've got a few plants I need to put into the ground and I need to mow the lawn. It'll take me all of 30 minutes as my garden is the size of a postage stamp.

    Bye for now.

    Snowy
