Chrisca, I am so sorry for your loss. I hope we can all provide support for you during this.

    Troo - I see you!

I have to go to work in a minute ugggggh. Don't really like working Saturdays as it is super slow and I spend the whole day standing around, and depending on what mood my boss is in, he would report me for that, even though he knows there is nothing else to do - will try and get on the belt.

Have been reading the winter threads - they are so interesting, I always forget all the tips by the time winter comes around! Apparently my storage heaters need to be taking elec in on maximum, and putting heat out on minimum until I get back from work, when I turn it up a bit. Someone suggested having them on low constantly, because then the bricks do not have to heat up-cool down-heat up again (a bit like having your heating on all the time, just turned right down I suppose).

Anyway, I'ld better go make my lunch, so have a good day all!

    Hi Again

(((hugs))) Chrisca, sounds like there is some form of blessing that she is out of pain now, and it was peaceful and in her own home, and also that she did know about your DGD before she died, not that it helps much.

Forgot to add earlier - Welcome all Newbies.

    Good morning

I can't believe after my happy post yesterday that I have to tell you that my mum died yesterday. I tried to ring her a few times yesterday and got no reply. I live about an hour away from her so when DH came home from work we went up there and found her in her chair. Locum who called after ambulance people said he wanted the coroner involved as she hadn't seen her GP for 3 weeks or more. He couldnt get hold of one so involved police. Two young PCs came and were really lovely and stayed until coroner rang to say she would take my mum into her care for the weekend and speak to her GP on Monday and hopefully, then, we would get a death certificate. Got home around 3am this morning and am up again now. Have to tell my eldest DS, who has just had the baby as he was on a night shift last night, not looking forward to that. Never had to deal with all the things that comes with a death before so am going to sit here and make a list today of things that need to be done in the next week or so just so I don't forget anything.

Am happy she is at peace now, she wasn't living really, just existing with her lung cancer and emphysema and it was awful to watch. RIP Mum.

I' really sorry to hear about your mother. Even though she was ill the shock is just as bad.

    :D

Just a quickie - I just sold a spare sky box on ebay for £26 - might be worth a look to see if your model is worth anything. :D

    Morning all

((( hugs ))) to Chrisca, it is so cruel that you have had such wonderful and such awful things happen in the space of a week. Take care of yourself x

No auction today -we didn't wake up until 8.30  Babysat DGD last night and didn't get home until 11.30, then started watching something on telly.

Trying to persuade DH to look for a new three piece today, our is leather, and it has split on the seats, but we have only had it 8 years, and is in good condition apart from that. I know, as a true MS I should put a throw on it and make it last another 8 years :D

Not sure what we are doing today as the weather looks a bit iffy (more like November than July) :o

Have a good day everyone x

    Good morning everyone

Chrisca my condolences to you and yours on your loss. (((hugs)))
katiesmummy Congratulations to your friend. I'm sure that baby will wrapped in cotton wool. ;)
troo nice to see you back again. Catowen just commented on those who are MIA.
Catowen I'm sure you will notice a difference in your DD now that she has had some independence and tasks to lead. And don't be embarrassed about crying - I'm sure most of us have done it at some time or another.
PenPen I'm choosing to read your post about political comments as being positive (I think you may have missed a "not" out somewhere - least I hope so!) :D I try not to get too political but the situation in Zimbabwe seems so hopeless and I really feel for the innocents who inevitably end up bearing the brunt. I'll shut up now. :o
(((hugs))) to those who need them.

Haven't been around for a few days as I have been so busy at w**k. Haven't even had the BM on for the last few days - choosing instead to use the 10p rolls that I got in Sainsbugs for lunch. I will make some garlic foccacia today though as I just luuuurve it.

Thankfully the washing is up to date as we are forecast rain for most of the weekend. I remembered to stock up on soda crystals and maybe I'm fooling myself but the whites really do look whiter.

This weekend I hope to start getting organised for our holiday next weekend. :j So I will get the case down and air it and look out some summer clothes (well, I live in hope that we will see *some* sunshine).

First though I will check everything in the fridge and anything that needs using up will be used today.

I hope Saturday is good to you all. xx

    Morning all
Big hugs to Chrisca, so sorry to hear about your mum, I lost my mum to lung cancer too 16 years ago.
WB Troo, you have been missed.
Not sure what the plans are today, got the inlaws coming for lunch tomorrow, so I need to do some housework & deide what to cook. As hubby rightly said, his mum isn't much of a cook, but she can do a roast dinner, so it is probably better if I do something she can't cook, I may look for a Jerk Chicken recipe & try that with rice & salad.
I hope everyone has a good day.
    Hugs Hester

will have a look at how much the model sells for- thank you!

just had a look and if i dont get anyone else other than the rude guy asking for it, think i will flog the box on ebay.

out of curiosity, i had a look to see how much the buggy i bought for ds a couple of weeks ago in argos is selling for on ebay- £115.99!!!! I only paid £40 for it on sale, and I think the normal price was about £70!!
