I have woken up with a sore throat and swollen glands and feel a bit carp. I HATE having a cold

promised DD2 that I would pull all the furniture out of her bedroom and give it a good old clean (long overdue!) but now I don't feel like it, but i dont think she will have any sympathy

    suns shining at the moment!!:j

    Good Morning All

N9eav - I dont like 'normal' doughnuts but love Crispy Kreme ones.

Have loads to do today so shouldnt really be on here as I get distracted but just having a cuppa so once finished that I will be getting on. Ds has a football day with his club, its also signing on day so will be parting with £95. DD is going out with OH for the morning so I should get some peace. Plan of action is to clear the washing basket, some paperwork and then the ironing basket.

Not sure what is for dinner, will have a look in the freezers. Have decided that I will be buying very little food over the 6 week holiday to run my freezers down then have a big stock up in September.

DD has another week at school and DS a week and a half, will sit down soon and look at things to do over the school holidays - aim to spend as little money as possible.

Best be off, have a great day.

    Morning All :hello:

well so far the weather looks quite good here in london- might take ds to the park later on

well ds woke me at 5.30 deciding that it was party time  so didnt get much sleep last night.

been replying to the responses i got on my freecycle ads, some people are sooo rude. i am offering an old sky box that has been sitting in a cupboard for about 3 years and i had an email from some bloke who said 'i want the sky box, gimme your address and i will collect tomorrow, dont offer to anyone else'- erm bu**er off mister you are getting nothing!

gonna 'fly' round the house later and also do more sorting out of stuff i dont want.

now for the REALLY good news- i'm an auntie!!!

my best mate had her son last night, 3 weeks early :j :j :j
she has had 6 miscarriages and 1 preemie who sadly passed away so he is a very long-awaited arrival.

no clue about weight etc...it was her oh who text me and men never think to give information like that lol. will try and get up to see her later if oh gets back from work in time to have ds

    thats about it

have a great day everyone :D

    Good morning

I can't believe after my happy post yesterday that I have to tell you that my mum died yesterday. I tried to ring her a few times yesterday and got no reply. I live about an hour away from her so when DH came home from work we went up there and found her in her chair. Locum who called after ambulance people said he wanted the coroner involved as she hadn't seen her GP for 3 weeks or more. He couldnt get hold of one so involved police. Two young PCs came and were really lovely and stayed until coroner rang to say she would take my mum into her care for the weekend and speak to her GP on Monday and hopefully, then, we would get a death certificate. Got home around 3am this morning and am up again now. Have to tell my eldest DS, who has just had the baby as he was on a night shift last night, not looking forward to that. Never had to deal with all the things that comes with a death before so am going to sit here and make a list today of things that need to be done in the next week or so just so I don't forget anything.

Am happy she is at peace now, she wasn't living really, just existing with her lung cancer and emphysema and it was awful to watch. RIP Mum.

Good morning everyone  Just a quickie - I have to get DD up to school as she's off on the Duke of Edinburgh camp this weekend. The weather doesn't look too bad, much better than last weekend

Annie - I think the odd political statement on this thread is not out of place (as long as the post is mainly Old Style) - after all the WI changes things through direct action, and all our lives are governed by politics ;)

Edit - Chircsa - my condolences to you and your family.

DD is calling - back later, Penny. x

    morning all,

Bright and sunny here, I have OH work clothes on a boil wash and will get them on the line in a bit.

The party last night was a great success, it was a really good night, the food went down well, but as always there was too much left, so I ended up telling the party goers to help themselves to anything they wanted, they were like a crowd of locusts :D , in good old OS stylie they all took loads home, I ended up with loads of cheese, two huge bits of stilton, so I will have to think of something to do with it, can you freeze stilton ? I could not take a photo as OH did not get home before I left, but there will probably be some floating around work next week, surfice to say I looked silly, I was driving down the road in my chefs hat with spoons in my hair, and two builders in a van let me out the road and did a double take :D

15 people who said they were coming did not turn up, so I shall be E-mailing them next week, we catered for them and its rude just not turning up especially as we are a charity.

Going to get the earth today for my veg boxes, and plant my winter veg seeds, I may be a bit late but will have a go, I am very excited about planting seeds :o . Other than that I will have a fairly easy day, DD is off into town with her mates, OH and I might go out in his van for him to practice his driving.

Hugs to smoky, have a good weekend hun xx

Hugs to pen pin, candy, jayward, anniestar and anyone else in need

N9eav, thanks for the bean recipe, and nice tackle by the way :D

Kathy enjoy your last day of freedom.

Aussie the story of your DGS and the dog poo really made me :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Katiesmummy good news re your friends baby :T :T

Chrisca, Just read your post I am so sorry about your dear mum, as you said she is at peace now, take care of yourself hun, huge gentle hugs xx

    Have good days all xx
