Natwest £50 savings cashback loophole

Somone actually rang me back today to say they couldn't see why I have'nt received the £50 (12th SO made on 3 Aug). He said that the last batch of payments went through at the end of August, and the next wouldn't be until end of September and to wait until then. I said, forget that, I kept my side of the bargain by making 12 monthly payments of £100, and expect them to keep theirs, and pay up in accordance with their terms. He said he'd try to get it through within the next day or two. Will post if I get it.
Latest update: As nothing's appeared, I rang again today, and apparently, the man I spoke to on Tuesday (1 Sep) has given incorrect information (what a surprise). I asked for the matter to be escalated today, and now someone else has put in a manual request for the £50, which will take two days to appear (today being day one, and tomorrow....). They can't explain why this payment hasn't been triggered automatically. My guess is they have a quota that they want to spend each month, and then the rest of us have to wait until the next batch.0 -
Like wise, last payment made on 3rd August. Still nothing. Rang yesterday(3rd Sept), tried to fob me off with it will appear on your next statement, told them that it should appear online immediately the payment is made in. I've kept my side of the bargain, it's your turn!
So they have now raised a Query and given me a reference number and
should get back to me within 24 hours, i.e. today. I ready out the Ts and Cs as per their website at the time stating, which seemed to take
them aback, hence the enquiry. Will keep you posted.0 -
So, just had the call.
Yes, we've investigated and can't see any problem as to why you shouldn't receive the bonus."
Wait for it, so it will now go out at the end of September in the next batch. That's the way the system has been set up.
Well I'm not happy with that, you should design a system which can do what you promised to do on your own website said ".We will pay £50 cash into your savings account within 1 month after 12 consecutive monthly payments of at least £100 have been made
you are not delivering what you promised. I've kept my side of the bargain etc. It's your turn.
Well there's nothing more I can do, other than offer to pay interest on the money for that period of time when you should have had it.
Again, I'm not happy with that and will then log it as a formal complaint, (which it already was) and take it further, banks should behave responsibly and stick to what they have promised to do, do you understand my point of view.?
Just a minute, let me have a word with my manager.
Manager says, okay, make a temporary payment of £50 today and then at the end of September when the automated bonus should come through, they will simply deduct it.
Result.
You have to stay on your toes with these banks, make sure they read their own Ts and Cs0 -
Credit going in today for £50.
Then at the end of September another £50 will go in, which is the one I
am "supposed" to wait for (but won't). Then that 2nd £50 will then be deducted straightaway, as obviously I'm not entitled to £100.0 -

I know that. What I'm trying to say is, do you really trust them to pay you your reward at the end of September? They clearly didn't pay you in August when they were meant to. By the sounds of it, they have already scheduled a debit of £50 from your account for the end of September. If they recall the temporary reward at the end of September but fail to credit you with your proper reward, then you're going to be left £50 out of pocket.0 -
Don't worry, no wool gets pulled over my eyes! I'll be watching., you can be sure.0

I wouldn't expect anything less of you Mary0

I was promised this flippin' £50 on Tuesday, then told yesterday that I'd been given incorrect information and that they would have to put a manual request in for it to be paid today. Nothing, I've now been told that I was advised incorrectly yesterday as well and they won't pay it 'til end Sep, which is where I was at the beginning of the week! Apparently all of the managers are in a meeting now , so I can't speak to one. They're unbelievable.0
