Natwest £50 savings cashback loophole

Received my £50, after being initially told (on the 4th phone call), that I would have to wait until the end of September. (Last payment JULY 16th).0

£50 now visible in my account, finally.pochisoldi wrote: »Received my £50, after being initially told (on the 4th phone call), that I would have to wait until the end of September. (Last payment JULY 16th).
:j So it is possible to get blood out of a stone then.
I should close the account quickly, just in case they change their minds! I still haven't been successful in getting my £50. Last story I was told today was that they were going to get in touch with my local branch and get them to transfer in £50 from there (), which hasn't happened. Why they think that'll work, if they can't do it, heaven knows. I have to say, if this is a reflection on how they operate, I'm glad I don't have any savings with them, and would never dream of putting any with them now.

In my earlier conversation with them this morning, I pointed out that I know they can make a transfer go from Natwest to my Lloyds current account instantly via FP, so I wasn't buying the idea that they couldn't engineer a transfer internally within their own bank on the same day!
I would suggest 10_66, that you log it as a complaint with them and get the 24 hour turn around I did. Just say, you are very unhappy with them and would like a more immediate response, rather than being palmed off.
I always try a slight bit of humour and "get them on board" and get them to agree to see where you are coming from. They have to stick to their promises.
Already transferred my £50 elsewhere!0 -
I logged it as a complaint on the 1st September, but unfortunately, have been unable to secure my £50 today (didn't help that apparently ALL managers were in a meeting when I rang this afternoon). Will now wait to see if it turns up next week from local branch (as promised - hah).0

Went into my local branch on Friday to query why my payment wasn't received. The lady said she'd have to email it across to 'them', and she'd phone me back when she got a reply. That would be either Friday afternoon, or Saturday at the latest.
Guess what? No phone call yet! We wait and see...0 -

I had a similar experience, still waiting on a callback. This is poor, we kept up our end of the bargain! Not buying unnecessary toiletries 2024 26/53 UU, 25 IN0 -
I have had my £50, and have now transferred all the money out of the account. Does anyone know how I can close the account? I don't really want to ring or write, I would like to do it on-line. There is nothing in there so it probably doesn't matter, I just like to keep bank accounts tidy.0

Once upon a time, I had to close an e-savings account too. And I was informed the only way this could be done was by exploiting today's cutting edge technology and write into your branch. Look at that letter go!!!!0

Anyone got their £50 without asking?
It shouldn't have been hard to devise a computer programme for NatWest to automatically sort the sheep from the goats when they made the original offer :rolleyes:0 -
I got mine. A computer script would have ran, but it's likely it wasn't written properly, hence why people are still without their cash.0
