Natwest £50 savings cashback loophole

Last payment went in 16th Jul, Phoned 4th August to query - received letter 5th August saying money would go in 16th August. 27th August - phoned again, promised call back - nothing. Phoned 29th August - "Needs to be referred to a manager". Still nothing!
On the last call the agent threw out the hint that the money didn't go in on the same day - to which I pointed out that half way through the originating bank switched to Faster Payments, as well as the obvious fact that if the SO is due to go out at the weekend it won't get sent until Monday - I never thought I'd have to teach a bank employee how the banking system worked.0 -

Just now need to get all my money out, last time I tried that they said I could only withdraw my money into another Natwest account which is a bit tricky as I don't have another Natwest account
.
I have transferred the whole amount on line from Nat West to my Nationwide account. I can't work out how to close the Nat West account, but there is nothing in it now.0 -
12th payment made 05th/august/09, rang on friday 28th, confused woman in customer service, said to wait as payment would probably be made , with the end of august interest payments?
go online this morning.............still nothing been credited.
back on phone to customer "help-desk", got idiot who did not have a clue, so transferred me, to another dept- what a suprise got cut off in the process!!!!!!!
back on phone again, spoke to someone, who actually had a command of "spoken english" , looked on their system and could not fathom out what is going on, so informed me that they would look into it and phone me back within 48 hours.
took her name and extension no, not that i don;t trust them to ring me back!
13th payment now due in 4 days time, just wondering whether to let it go through, rather than confuse their system even more?
at least the £100 i have been paying in every month,i have transfered out again 4 days later, so they have made nothing off me on that score0 -

Somone actually rang me back today to say they couldn't see why I have'nt received the £50 (12th SO made on 3 Aug). He said that the last batch of payments went through at the end of August, and the next wouldn't be until end of September and to wait until then. I said, forget that, I kept my side of the bargain by making 12 monthly payments of £100, and expect them to keep theirs, and pay up in accordance with their terms. He said he'd try to get it through within the next day or two. Will post if I get it.0 -
I've been told 4 different explanations of when my £50 will be paid-
1) 26th of the month following 12th payment
2) last day of the month following 12th payment
3) effectively the 13th consecutive payment date
4) 4 weeks from the 12th payment
I've just made my 13th £100 payment and still nothing (all options have been and gone). I've now written a letter of complain to them demanding my £5o plus a D&I payment PLUS telephone bills PLUS £10 per hour work for compiling complaint.
The FOS will charge NAtwest £450 for investigating your complaint (I should this for a fact for reasons I cannot divulge) so my advice is to write and complaint demanding your money plus D&I.
To be honest I knew this was coming and the clowns at Natwest are trying everything to wriggle out of it.0 -
Did anyone open a young saver account as part of this offer???
I opened an e-saver for myself, and received the £50.00 within a copule of days of the 12th payment.
I also opened a young saver account for my son (opened a bit later than the esaver), 12th payment taken on 5th Aug, not yet got £50 but not quite reached 28 day deadline.
Just wondered if anyone else opened young saver & their experiences.
ThanksMake £10 a day challenge = Aiming for £100 a month
May - £100.68/£100 (£80.68 cash & £20.00 vouchers)
June - £121.04/£100 (£91.04 cash & £30.00 vouchers)
July - £22.11/£100 (£22.11 cash & £0.00 vouchers)0 -
Wasn't the offer one per person? And aren't you named on the young saver? if you are, you have your answer.Kavanne

I'm not sure where you get your "facts" from, but here's one for you...the current FOS case fee is £500, and has been since April this year. The FOS will charge NAtwest £450 for investigating your complaint (I should this for a fact for reasons I cannot divulge)
Don't get too excited though, because it's only charged when your complaint is moved up the FOS food chain and an adjudicator is assigned. During the early stages of your complaint, it's dealt with by a lesser mortal issuing a (threatening) letter which usually does the trick.0
