It shouldn't have been hard to devise a computer programme for NatWest to automatically sort the sheep from the goats when they made the original offer :rolleyes:0 -
Hi fellow customers of the bank that likes to say no!
I have just been told that I am not getting my £ 50.00 cash back as the deal was for new accounts only. I simply setup a new s/o to my exisiting account. Having read all the t/c's I can't see where it says new accounts. Just wondered if anyone has a view on this ?
I have writien to customer relations

That's absolute rubbish stevej58. I looked through the exact same T&Cs last year, discovered NO CLAUSE that stated you needed a new account. So I set up the standing order to a 2-year old account and I was paid my £50 last month. Don't let them fob you off!!!!0

As I recall, it had to be a new standing order set up, an existing one didnt count. I had both a natwest current account and natwest savings account already and Ive got the £50:hello:0 -
Hello - is this offer still going? I can't find it!!

Went into my local branch on Friday to query why my payment wasn't received. The lady said she'd have to email it across to 'them', and she'd phone me back when she got a reply. That would be either Friday afternoon, or Saturday at the latest.
Guess what? No phone call yet! We wait and see...
I was promised a phone call, and still waiting, when I rang in for the 3rd time, when they sent an internal e-mail - nearly a week ago.
4th phone call on Saturday and they promised it would be processed today without waiting until end of month. A concern formally recorded on my account.
1st call they said a few delayed July ones including mine would be paid late August - nothing ! 2nd call late August they said the bank holiday processing meant it slipped a few days - nothing early Sept.
My wife's own account paid up promptly, but suspect because one of my SO was not treated as a fast payment at NatWest end, the identifier missed it.
As an update it has been added as promised. All ok now though, if a month late.0 -
Well this company really are a joke.
My ISA took 3 months to set up, with me doing all the calls, and now I have another total ball's up with this.
First of all as I have no cheque account with them so I cant get to my money unless I open one. I told them this was never part of the original deal but they just say "sorry about that."
My only option is to close account by letter request.
I told them I will do that once I get my £50 and even though I have a case reference number and member of their customer service staff on it there is still no £50
She told me last week it would go in on Thursday but no.
It makes me laugh that she is waiting for her's too so if they can't pay up with their own staff what chance have we got??
I will be off like a shot once this mess is sorted as for £50 it's just not worth it. I have around £1,400 in there currently and last month I got 8p in interest.
What a cowboy outfit Natwest are. It's far better to be penny wise than pound foolish.

Have finally received my £50, but only after much chasing. Obviously the person who wrote the letter I received today (resulting from my 'phone call to them last week) didn't try hard enough, because he says that I can't have the £50 until the end of September.0

I got my £50 ok but are still having problems transferring the funds out to my Nationwide account. I've spoken to them on the phone numerous times and it's all set up ad they say they've authorised the payment, yet it never leaves the account.
i may be £50 richer from all this but have no confidence in Natwest and would never invest with them again. They are not getting much good publicity from this are they.:j Go on, shake your money maker! :j0
