Natwest £50 savings cashback loophole
Comments
-
I made my first SO payment into my FirstReserve account on 3 Sep 2008.
And the 12th SO payment went through on 3 Aug 2009.
Even a 13th payment has been made on 1 Sep 2009 to ensure that I get the cashback.
Anyhow, I have not received my £50 yet and it looks like that I have to complain.
I wonder what you guys consider to be the best way of doing this? Over the phone, writing a letter or go to branch?
Thanks!
Identical situation to yourself, on same dates. Do what I did, read my posts in this thread, and I got a result within 24 hours. Morale of the story, be firm, be in charge, know your facts, and don't let go of the phone call, you want instant action, if the CS agent can't/won't help, ask to speak to the Manager of his section.0 -
SImilar situation here, first SO payment went into my account 3rd sept 08, last 3rd aug 09 and I haven't recieved my £50.
Think I'll pop into my branch as i'm in town on saturday to save having to wait on hold on the phone (and associated cost). Anyone had any success by going into branch to complain? If they can't help me I think I'll just get them to log it as a complaint so someone who can help will have to phone me as per their own complaints procedure...2009 wins: 4x BTCC tickets, Balvenie Whiskey, DVD set, Vodkat kit, €5 Mastercard0 -

Just been into my branch and was told that becasue mine is an e-savings account, there is nothing they can do at branch level, I would need to phone up. So I asked for a phone number and they said "just log on to the natwest website". Poor.
Phoned up and got fobbed off with, "there will be a letter sent to you shortly". Poor.
Going to ring back soon, but at work so can't spend too much time ringing round.0 -
I would suggest that everyone who hasn't been paid out writes to customer relations at the address below. They have a clear policy on writing back to let you know about the progress; in other words let them do the work.

Well after yet another phone call and still no £50 I was told that Natwest are to pay everyone on September 20th.
When I questioned this is not part of the original terms and conditions and quoted this message board the lady added that nothing will change as that is what Natwest plan to do!!
This lady was not the same one who told me my money would be paid last Thursday or Friday as she had finished for the day. I have requested she phone me on Saturday morning and explain why the goalposts have been moved YET AGAIN!!
WHAT A TOTAL JOKE THIS BANK IS.It's far better to be penny wise than pound foolish.

This state of affairs should be reported in the national press.
Natwest is deliberately not paying out on this offer, leaving customers struggling to sort out the mess.
I have advisers deliberately snowing me as to any right I might have to £50,although I started my esaver on 16th August 2008 !
I've finally written to the Customer services address you published ,having made over 6 attempts by phone .I cant even get my savings out and am waiting for a card reader.
They are just sitting on my money.
Isn't there a reporter that might disclose this unlawful activity .
Martin, cant you bite them for us please?0 -
There is a lady called Dawn in Customer Care of online banking who knew what to do when my case was referred to her on my 4th call. She arranged a transfer for the next working day.0

When I tried to get back to an individual,I was informed that they have 19 call centres dealing with internet banking..........
The last phone call resulted in some one asking a colleague and his date was 25th September...........
FSO for me if nothing happens then .0 -
after my conversation to a manager yesterday, who did actually ring me back, a novelty in itself for natwest, i thought at last i will finally get my £50.
wrong:mad:
still not rec'd the payment..............they really are a total shower.
will give them to start of day tomorrow and ring him up on his personnel extension number, might suggest him and the other managers in customer service and marketing read this thread, to see what adverse publicity this farce is generating.
only left £1 in a/c now, at least every month they only had my minimum payment of £100 each month for 3 days before i transferred it out again, which makes me feel a lot better than some.0 -
I am just about to start out trying to get my £50 my 12th payment was the 5th of September, but I do not want to waste a load of money on phone calls. Has anyone spoken to Watchdog on there link. maybe they can name and shame Nat West over this matter.
Has anyone had the £50 without jumping through hoops to get it!!!!0
