I'm not excusing them (they should either have closed the deal or brought in more staff) but it would at least be an explanation.
It should be an automatic process. The computer system registers that 12 payments of £100+ have been made, and the computer automatically credits the accounts.
I think that they made a major error when they wrote the software, that meant that the payments now have to be credited manually.0 -
Well, to be fair I called them two days ago and just got a phone call confirming that they have now made the £50.00 payment into the account. Now I await how they deal with my wife's account as they seemed to handle her call differently.0

£50 paid with £50 distress and inconvenience payment on top. If no joy, take no nonsense and make an offical complaint threatening FOS involvement. Claim for distress, phone bills and time wasted on preparing complaint.
Complaint letter sent 1 Sept, money paid Tuesday 14.
Getit up ye Yorkshire Boy! No one likes a smart @rse.0 -

Just out of interest, what was the reason you couldn't divulge the source of your £450 figure? Was it that you read an out of date FOS publication per chance? Or maybe you work for them? Tell me you don't work for them!Getit up ye Yorkshire Boy! No one likes a smart @rse.
And this smart @rse just received £130 from an LTSB complaint today. No letters...just two phone calls (one made to make the complaint and another received to 'negotiate' the settlement).

Wish I'd thought of the 'distress and inconvenience' factor last year when NatWest failed to set up my standing order before the deadline and I had to raise a complaint.
I spoke to them yesterday and the £50 was manually credited to my account by the afternoon, and withdrawn by me this morning.0 -
Well, got my refund after one phone call, as did my wife. Seems they definitely have issues with this £50.00 credit on accounts so my advice is call up if your payment is overdue and don't accept the initial response I get which was to wait a further 30 days to see if the credit goes through. My "complaint" was dealt with the Customer Care Department.0

I used the Online Feed back Form on their website and wrote to them about £50.00 credit, after two days received a call from them and they confirmed that the amount has been credited. I logged in immediately and transferred the amount out:beer:

I e-mailed Natwest customer relations and explained the situation. That me and my girlfriend had set up accounts and standing orders (quoting acc nos) and not had our cashback.
Posted link to this site.
Got a reply after 2 days saying it had been passed to the relevent dept.
Got a letter saying they were dealing with my "complaint" (though I didn't think it was actually a complaint).
Got 50 credited to both accs today, approx 7 days after my e-mail.0 -
I phoned Natwest "Customer's Relations" a week ago. The person I talked to
promised me to check for me and to get back to me within the next 10
working days. I guess I was in a good mood and I accept his answer.
Indeed I received a phone call yesterday confirming that I was eligible for
the cashback and that it would be paid out end of this month the latest.
Now I just wait and see.0 -
well after threatening to withdraw my substantial savings out of nat west, they "over rode" the normal payment department, who were going to pay me the end of this month (55 days after the 12th payment) and manually paid me the £50 on friday the 18th sept at long last.
i also requested some form of goodwill gesture, for the time, agro and cost of phone calls and received £25 as well.
all i can say is thank goodness thats over with!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:T0
