Hmmm ... still no payment for me. I was supposed to have it by the start of September (by the T&Cs), but was promised it by the end of the month after I queried it. We're getting close, and no sign yet.

Has anyone else in this position had a payment in the past few days?

2 phone calls, 1 email, 1 trip to local branch followed by just 1 more phone call. . . . . . and eventually I received my £50

Easy really, Natwest are so easy to deal with . . . .. . . not

Many thanks to MSE for the original heads up though :j

At last! Following my complaint, I've had my cashback!

Curiously though, they paid it twice! I have two lots of £50 going in today as S/O Cashback, so have a total balance of £100.01 ... not sure if they'll take that back or not.

Well, it was a pain to get it, Natwest seem to be nothing but trouble, but good to have in the end.

Many thanks to chris_langs, who first posted about this.
  • I have been watching this thread with interest, wondering if my £50.00 cash back would need some encouragement to hit my account - but no such problem for me.

The 12th monthly standing order was credited on the 1st of September, and the £50.00 cash back was credited on the 28th of September. I have been withdrawing the £100.00 each month too, recycling the same money for 12 months really - not a bad return.

I was so looking forward to being able to raise a complaint - but no such luck!!!

A very happy Natwest customer am I!
  • No problems here either, received a letter confirming the £50 would be paid into my account and it subsequently went in.

Thanks for the original post about this £50

Has anyone tried the line that if I go into unauthorised overdraft, they will instantly charge me - so charge them the equivalent fee?

If I go into unauthorised overdraft, then the fee that they will charge me is detailed in their T&Cs. If they fail to pay me, however, there's no such penalty that has been set out in advance, so all you can hope for is a gesture of goodwill.

Would be a good one to try though, but I think I'll just stick with my two cashbacks! £100 for minimal work (more work in complaining than actually doing the SO!) is pretty good for me.
  • I have to be fair, I paid my last payment on 2nd sept and had the £50 on the 28th of sept so they did keep to the terms and conditions. Best of luck to the peole still fighting for there money.

Ours has come through. Wasn't totally sure whether it should have been this month or last month so thought I'd wait and see before complaining. £50 credited on Monday without contacting them at all.
Didn't take the money straight out each month, but emptied the account a few times during the year.

Time to get the money out now, though.

    Nice one.

    CHA-CHING!
Exactly the same here. I was preparing to have to chase them for it after seeing the problems others have had but there was no need thankfully.
