I worked in reverse. Because I used the account as a fund to pay off my student overdraft, I transferred £100 out of the savings account the day before the SO moved the money back in. It's an odd way of doing it, I agree, but it worked for me :)
  • I got a letter yesterday responding to my complaint that said that my twelfth payment was 3rd September and that I would have to wait til the end of the month (it was actually the 3rd August).

I phoned up and had to explain to them that September - August was actually twelve payments - quite concerning for banking staff to not be able to work this out without help!

The woman on the phone was emailing my details to the correct department for them to sort it out in 48hours - not holding my breath though.

Got my £50 today - at long last.

I'm pleased to report that my £50 was credited automatically with no problems at all. I was pleasantly surprised as I was preparing myself for a fight!! ;) :rotfl:

Best of luck to those of you still chasing your bonus. :o

    Hooray! :T
  • well its now been a week since my irate phone call to a senior manager ,regarding the non payment of my £50..............and still not been credited.

41 days have now passed since my 12th payment.
11 days since i received a letter stating "payment would be made 30 days after the 12th payment!

9 phone calls made so far.

53 minutes of my life wasted on the phone to nat west.

they really are incompetent in the extreme.

have now officially informed them that unless i receive payment by close of business this friday at the latest, then its down the official complaints route i go!!
  • The whole thing is entirely shocking and Natwest should be publicly embarrassed for their blatant ignorance of their own terms and conditions.

  • My £50 was credited to my account soon after my 12th payment was made. :j

Hope everyone else gets their money soon.

I wonder whether the problem is (due to this site or otherwise) NatWest have had a great deal more take-up on this than they expected and so simply can't cope with the amount of work.
I'm not excusing them (they should either have closed the deal or brought in more staff) but it would at least be an explanation.

How is transferring money into accounts a problem for NatWest? They're a bank for goodness sake! I can do it myself online to other peoples' accounts without a hitch, so why can't they?
  • Also having problems getting Natwest to correctly credit £50.00 in both mine and my wife's saving account. The level of inconsistency and incompetence staggers me - this should have just been a simple routine written into their system software to credit £50.00 into each qualifying account after the twelfth payment. I also remember when we opened the accounts Natwest were equally inconsistent and quite frankly incorrect in their processing of the applications which required extra phone calls to remedy the situation.

To be quite honest every time I have any dealings with any of the big high street banks, other than my main bank, the level of customer care is terrible - the staff seem badly trained and ill equipped to deal with simple processes. Then we wonder why the UK banking system failed so spectacularly:D:D
