I think everyone should stop paying the tv license. I think it's a joke and a waste of money. I'd rather lose the BBC channels, but that's me..
But then again, I'm too chicken to stop paying.0 -

yeah im above the law
the licence pays for those fat cats at the bbc who cant get off their asses to do a proper days work but swan around in taxix - extortiante dinners at restuarants and the like with the tv licence money etc
at the end of the day its down to the individual wether they pay for the licence or not and as a matter of fact i never watch the bbc channels coz they are a load of old crap and repeats. - isnt that why people get sky and cable tv for a more choice of programme even though they complain about the adverts on the othe r channels.
i rarely watch tv and the other occasions that i use it for moves or playing games consoles
o and i dont have a car so i dont need to pay car tax - so there:rotfl:0 -
Kill Bill I totally agree that's its down to the indiviual whether they pay the tv licence or not. At the end of the day - it's your choice, I'm not denying that. I also think that generally the quality of programs shown and the amount of repeats is disgraceful. It's just another tax at the end of the day.... the problem I have is that you're bragging about it on a public forum.
You should pop over to the DFW forum and check out some people over there. Some people are stuggling to make ends meet, feed children, keep paying the mortgage etc but they still buy a licence. In in my opinion it's a kick in the teeth to everyone of these people, who are trying to make a better lives for themselves and struggling in the process. I assure you that I'd rather buy my children some new clothes or shoes, but I buy the licence. It's all about your morals and integrity at the end of the day.
Personally I think not paying it out of a one man protess is pointless - you have saved yourself a couple of pounds - well done. In the meantime the rest of us will carry your burden while you keep cheating the system. Hey, that's just my little opinion! xLMB 01/03/08£9001.61 £10/6 6089.70 - 32%paid off!

I agree somewhat with helliecopter - Killbill, you have a selfish attitude and are no better than the 'fat cats sitting on their asses' as you so succinctly put it. With people like you trying to cheat the system, honest people like us have to make up the difference, and so the TV Licence fee rises.Watch this space...0

no offence intended to anyone here but i personally used to work at tv licensing, the letters that are sent out are printed in advance as there are millions to be sent out, once you purchase your licence it isnt possible to sort through the millions of letters waiting to be sent out just to retrieve one.the letters to state to the present occupier, sometimes they do have a name on but this name is taken from the electrol roll. It is an extremely hard place to work due to the ammount of abusive the staff receive people who call are extremely rude and abusive when they call. No one likes to by a tv licence but at the end of the day it is the law and the people who work there are only trying to earn a living why not give them a break.***** on the road to debt freedom *****
