Sorry, excuse my ignorance, but do you need a new divan base or mattress, or both?! Is it to replace the one you have or as a spare?:A Luke 6:38 :AThe above post is either from personal experience or is my opinion based on the person God has made me and the way I understand things. Need a divan base and mattress to go into the main bedroom. The current mattress + bedstead is going into the spare room.0

Ahhh, ok
Well it sounds like you know more or less what you want. Pocket sprung, i'd go 1000+ as an improvement, maybe get a sprung divan base too? Maybe put us a link to ones you've seen and like and we can comment? Unfortunately we're not in a place to recommend directly as its contravenes some of the forum rules. Just avoid Silentnight/Rest Assured/Sealy...:A Luke 6:38 :AThe above post is either from personal experience or is my opinion based on the person God has made me and the way I understand things. I'd not want Meester or PepsiCola accusing anyone of favouritism, I may have a brother in the trade who sells them?!?
:rotfl: oh, and aren't I supposed to be your assistant salesman?!

I had tried out a quite a few mattresses before looking on this thread and already favoured the Kozee Sleep Pocketmaster, but found this thread so helpful in confirming I was on the right path and hadn't been mislead. But in no way did I feel Tim was trying to make me buy from him so not sure what some peoples issues are about??
Am so happy with the mattress btw have have slept like a baby since getting it. Its firm but not too hard, just right for me :-) Furniture123 were good too, the first mattress they delivered had a slight mark on it, so they sent me another one and have said that I can keep both of them!! So straight on ebay that has gone, now thats money saving!! :-)0 -
Hi All,
I was looking at these two mattresses from Dreams:
http://www.dreams.co.uk/en-gb/ProductList/?sort=priceasc&page=0&ippage=-1&cid=MEMORYFOAM-MAT&language=en-GB
They are pricey, but when I tried them out they seemed very comfortable.
Does anyone have any experience with these mattresses? Is the memory foam of a suitable quality? I can't see any reference on the website to the density of the foam, but my partner is quite wary of an overly warm mattress, so I was thinking we would need more dense foam.
Any advise appreciated!
Thanks,
Adam0 -

Hi Adam.
To start with the mattress appears to be one that is made for Dreams, so is most likely to be made to a lower spec. This often means low density memory foam also (as it is cheaper). It also says deep layer of memory foam, and soesn't actually specify the depth. the optimum depth is 2" to 2.5", but I'd stick with 2" if your partner doesn't like being too warm in bed.
2000 springs is over the maximum I would normally recommend. The higher the spring count, the smaller and weaker the springs, so the easier to damage. This is especially important as it is a non turn mattress, so the springs don't get a rest.
Most important of all: at £899 forget it.
As for the Richmond, Dreams don't really say much about it either. The spring count is better, but it is still non turn, and is still very very expensive.0 -
This thread is so funny-soo obvious whats going on.
BTW only 5 threads running on the Vent,Bent and Heaven sent board mostly complaining about memory foam mattress companies.Mostly new posters too :rotfl:0
