Hi guys I was hoping I would get some advice on what this bed is like. I saw it in a local shop for £229 for a double so I know it is expensive on this site but just want to know abt quality / durability. I tested it for about 10 minutes and I really like it but don't know whether the rest.
Please let me know what you think
What bed would that be? There isn't a link.....0 -

Highgrove beds aren't known for being very good quality, but if you like it, and are happy to pay over the odds for an open coil sprung mattress then the choice is yours.0

I am really struggling with this though. I am looking for an inexpensive bed no more than £250 to replace the ikea rip-off that I have at the moment. It is one of those sprung slatted ones with a really dodgy old foam mattress, as my landlord will be paying for the replacement he is really pushing me to just try and replace the mattress but I am not convinced that it is good for a spring mattress to be put on top of a slatted base. On top of that the bedstead isn't very stable. I don't suppose anyone can point me in the right direction.0 -
Thanks Tim that is what I wanted to know, it might feel nice for now but there's no point if it wont last.

Open coil sprung mattresses are fine for a slatted base, and you can get a top of the range one for less than £250.0 -
Hi Espresso,
Why's that - I thought Stickys stayed at the top of the list of threads? But I'm fairly new so may have got the wrong end of the stick(y).
Yes Stickys do stay at the top of the board but for some reason many users simply ignore them as if they are invisible. Perhaps it varies from board to board but when users are pointed to stickeys, they often admit to not seeing them! Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -

I have to admit I am guilty of this, I tend to look at whatever is in bold type. However I always do a search before I ask a question.0 -
Hi there
I'm in dire need of help to choose a mattress. I've read the last 10 pages and now I'm away to the beginning to start but being awfully impatient can I just ask anyone who's here what kind of bed they sleep in and what they think of it? I'm sure that won't be seen as "selling"
The reason I ask is once upon a time I bought a bed from the Bed Shed (don't know if it has an English equivalent or if it's the same there, I'm Glaswegian) but it was truly, truly hell. I spent a very sad and uncomfortable couple of years till I could afford a new one.
Now, as my back twinges and hurts so much the pain comes into my dreams (honest) I need a new one. I currently have a king size divan and if possible I'll stick with the base. I feel odd buying a mattress online (can't try it on) but my only option is that dreaded Bed Shed, Dreams or a department store.
I don't care for the new-fangled nonsense of memory foam and non turn mattresses I want a good, comfortable sleep. I'm overweight somewhat (ex smoker:p ) and the side I normally sleep on is suffering (numb feelings, sore hips, etc)
Any help GRATEFULLY receivedGrocery Challenge M: £450/£425.08 A: £400/£.May -£400/£361 June £380/£230 (pages 18 & 27 explain)0
