Must've missed that one on the other thread, it's hard to keep up!

Looks like a solid coil sprung mattress, by the better half of the Kozee empires. Tim will know more than I on specifics, but face value looks fine. As Tim posted above, you should be able to get a top of the range open coil king for under £200, and that looks to be what this is.

You're definately just after open coil, rather than pocket or memory foam etc? You will pay more for the others but they will provide more comfort and support.

  • Hi there all,

we have managed to completely destroy 2 mattresses in 3 years- both brought by my mum-in-law with the very best of intentions. The springs have near enough come through the cover and they are lumpy and horrid. I suffer from a slipped disc and have a wonderful sleep on my mums memory foam mattress which seems very firm. Any suggestions on a type of mattress that might be worth investing in. Also i am only light and my husband is 19 stone so would this make any difference to the type we should get?also just to throw in another variable into the equation we can't really afford more than about £250 at a push!!

    Very thankful for any suggestions!

I think your best bet would be to go for a top of the range open coil sprung mattress in order to stick to your budget. Stay away from the big names because you won't get as much for your money.

What make were the two mattresses you destroyed?
  • thanks for your quick reply! this current one is Mansion House???? and i haven't a clue what the last one was. Would the type you suggested be fairly padded on top as i can't bear the feel of blinkin springs!maybe i can just feel them because i have always had rubbish mattresses!

We did go to a bed shop but the man was so useless i gave up. I'm after advice rather than a sales pitch and thats hard to find so here i am!

    Thanks for the reply.

Is it coil sprung? from the description on the site where my brother will buy it from, it said pocket sprung, which is why i was worried as it's at the cheaper end for that sort of mattress.

He's definitely after coil sprung, as he is on a tight budget and will probably buy a cheap pine bed in the future and i understand that coil sprung is best for beds with slats.

You shouldn't be able to feel the springs on any mattress that is even half decent.

I don't give sales pitch in the forums, which is why I can't actually advise any particular mattress.
