    Thanks for the reply.

Is it coil sprung? from the description on the site where my brother will buy it from, it said pocket sprung, which is why i was worried as it's at the cheaper end for that sort of mattress.

He's definitely after coil sprung, as he is on a tight budget and will probably buy a cheap pine bed in the future and i understand that coil sprung is best for beds with slats.

It is definately open coil sprung. If they are describing it as pocket sprung, then they are trying to rip you off.

    Hi Espresso,

Why's that - I thought Stickys stayed at the top of the list of threads? But I'm fairly new so may have got the wrong end of the stick(y).

It was an ironical statement saying people usually overlook them and post a thread of their own...!

The fact that it said it was pocket spring at a cheap price was what made me question whether it was any good. Looking at other sites it says it's a Bonnel spring system which is open coil, and it's the higher end of the price range so I'm guessing it will be fine for his uses. Which will be a floor for a long time if i know him.

It is a good mattress. You might get better for less money if you go for an independent company though.

Which site claimed that it was pocket sprung?

You shouldn't be able to feel the springs on any mattress that is even half decent.

I don't give sales pitch in the forums, which is why I can't actually advise any particular mattress.

oh crikey i hope you didn't think i was digging at you!quite the opposite-it seems many have been helped by your advice! It's nice to have honest knowledgeable guidance i'm sure others will agree. I was approached by a salesman who guided us swiftly to the expensive bit and then lost interest when we told him our budget and just pointed to one mattress and "oh well try that one then"!

It's in the more information on the link in my original post.

But reading the description it does say bonnell so that was an over site on my part.

I think my brother has put the order in now.

Makes it academic really then. It's good, but not pocket sprung, and good quality but could perhaps have got it cheaper...still, it's not your money wasted ;)

  • Hi guys I was hoping I would get some advice on what this bed is like. I saw it in a local shop for £229 for a double so I know it is expensive on this site but just want to know abt quality / durability. I tested it for about 10 minutes and I really like it but don't know whether the rest.

Please let me know what you think
