Which mattress? (merged threads)

Hi, Tim!
We're in a desperate rush to buy a new King Size mattress after selling our bed on ebay (duh!). Our local indie bed supplier sells mattresses made by beauty sleep in West Yorks. They sell two pocket sprung mattresses - 1000 spring & 1500 spring. I think the 1000 spring version is £370. They also have two coil-sprung mattresses @ £220 & £270. Have you heard of this company? Is it a wise buy? My wife has had back ache after our IKEA Sultan Hagalid mattress. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Many Thanks

Dear Dave.
It's difficult to say without a link to the items, but they all seem very over priced.

hi could anyone give me any advice on this mattress please.
i haven't much money but rally need a new mattress.
i have lower back pains so i desperately need to choose the right one.http://www.bedsonlegs.co.uk/acatalog/copy_of_copy_of_5__Kingsize_Pocket_800_Mattress__199.99.html0 -
Michelle, 800 springs is not a great number, and 'sumptuous filling' probably means it will be synthetic and flat after a short while, but for that price range you cant expect much more unless it's a sale item. What is your budget? You are right to want pocket sprung with back pains, but you get what you pay for (more or less!).:A Luke 6:38 :AThe above post is either from personal experience or is my opinion based on the person God has made me and the way I understand things. Please don't be offended if that opinion differs from yours, but feel free to click the 'Thanks' button if it's at all helpful!0

As far as the first one goes. This is the cheap version of pocket sprung/reflex foam. It is basically just a reflex foam mattress with small springs added just so that they can call it pocket sprung/foam. You can easily spot these because they come vacuum packed and rolled up (you can't roll up proper pocket as tight as that without damaging them). Don't be fooled into into thinking this mattress contains memory foam, because it doesn't.
You will see from the photo that the second one has a very thin pillow top. Not only does this make the mattress non turn (which is a big no no with pocket springs), but the fact that the pillow top is so thin indicates that it is a very low quality mattress.
You would be better off going for a top of the range open coil sprung mattress rather than a cheap and nasty pocket sprung.0 -

As I said in my previous post: "You would be better off going for a top of the range open coil sprung mattress rather than a cheap and nasty pocket sprung."
I would take some of the claims on that web site with a pinch of salt.0 -
