What size and what do you call expensive?
Madrid 4'6" mattress £415 (platform top divan set is only £5 extra at £419!) or mattress £399, both + £30ish delivery for the mattress.
The Breasley Flexcell seems to have two versions, one all memory foam and one with pocket springs. Memory foam version only is cheaper.
The Flexcell isn't memory foam only, it is memory foam on top of reflex foam, which isn't as good as memory foam on top of pocket springs.
As for the flexcell with pocket springs, they are the reflex foam encapsulated type that I have mentioned before.0 -
king size is required, the flexcell 1000 is a complete reflex and meory foam and felt ok in the shop when i tried it, i wish i could try a romantica it might help me to decide, i think the £500 is exepsnvie,
i can get a flexcell 1000 for £315!0 -
Hi,
Looking for some advice.....
Currently have the IKEA malm bedframe and a regular mattress on it. My boyfriend absolutely detests the low height of the bedframe, and after hearing his moans for the last 4years I have had enough!!
The mattress is also really old and horrible and desperately needs replacing.
So
Any suggestions for a good King size divan that is as high as possible! With regards to the mattress, I do get back pain, so I'm not sure what kind of mattress would be best. I having been looking at memory foam and quite fancy that.
Really, I don't want to spend more than £500 and that is the absolute max. If I can get it for £300-400 I would be so happy!
Thanks in advanceSealed pot challenge - 5610 -

Yes they do. If you google the Madrid, the 4th link down, that company has a comfort guarantee, check it out.
I have the Madrid, after a lifetime of Dunlopillo beds, and I find it very comfortable. I thought I'd miss my Dunlopillo but I don't.0 -
Thanks Tim,
I am still trying to fight myself through the jungle of mattresses and I am still confused! Oh dear, it's just too much info and stuff to look out for. So, anyone who can help, please I am begging you before I loose my mind! Here is what I would like
- firm mattress for bad back
- preferable latex or a 'cool' memory foam
- preferable size 160 x 200 (we've got a Euro size bed and no it's not IKEA) LOL
and maybe you could check these ones out for me and let me know what you think.
Thanks everyone, I really do appriciate your help!!!

Great thread but there are just too many parts to it so here goes with my specific question.
Been into shops today and found at Archers
Highgrove Aloe Vera king size at £399 - not allowed to post a link but it's easy to find on Google.
For the money (or another £100 more), is there anything better out there?
We've changing from a very firm pocket spring so we need
- Medium firmness
- King Size
- Mattress only
Any help would be great.0 -

The Aloe Vera is just a gimmick to push the price up. Go for a turnable mattress without gimmicks.0 -
this is probably/definately a really dumb question.....
I'm nigh on certain that our bed that we bought about 5-6yrs ago is a Queen size when first moved home.
We bought it with a cheap mattress (not a clue what make) and it "pings" and isnt the most comfortable thing around so decided its time to splash on a decent mattress....this La Romantica Madrid model sounds good?
Heres the stupid question....am I missing something or do none of the sites seem to sell Queen sized mattresses? Only ever seem to see them listing Singles, Doubles, and King size?0
