    We hate hot beds

We just got the 'Cool' mattress Protector from John Lewis -not that cheap (£78 for the King Size) but it has the Outlast (?? think thats the fabric) in it that regulates your body heat - and it really does work!!

We are looking to get a memory foam topped spring mattress but were worried about the heat aspect so got this, havent got the new mattress yet but tried it on our current pocket spring mattress and it is a noticable difference - especially in the heat of the last few night!

    Hi all

For anyone hunting for a comfy divan, after reading most of the pages of this forum we opted to buy a king size millbrook 1400 pocket with memory foam, was £389, and it is wonderful! It is non turn but comes with a sprung base.

Hello everyone, im looking for some advice. Have speant the day bouncing on different mattresses and have decided that memory foam is for us.

Now we just need to work ou what is best so all advice greatly appreciated and the pros and cons for the following

    Memory foam and foam under

Memory foam and open spring under

Memory foam and closed spring under

The one we have our eye on at the mo is 6ft Myers Sculpture Twin Sprung Memory Foam Mattress which is £449 inc vat and del.

Does anyone know where we can get a cheaper deal or is this a bargain?

We were hoping to spend £400 max but that is looking like a distant dream!

    Thanks for reading,

    Vicki

Forgot to say its going on a slats

Urgent advice needed! I am in desperate need of a new mattress. I have a really bad back (3 collapsed discs, a cyst and osteoarthritis). I don't do things by half! ;-)
Anyway, I've been looking around and I am getting more confused by the minute by the advice which mattress would be best for me.
I have to say I don't like the idea of the memory foam 'hot' feeling. So, I looked at Latex, but you can get them solid or with springs.
Oh, I don't know!!!!!! The only thing I do know that I like my bed quite firm, so any advice would be really, really helpful.
    Thank you!!!!

If you go for latex then the best option is with pocket springs. However make sure it doesn't only contain a small amount of latex. You are best going for a full 2" layer on top of the pocket springs. There are actually 2 sided pocket sprung/latex foam mattresses available that will last far longer (worth taking into account as latex is far more expensive than memory foam.

As for memory foam. It needn't be hot as long as it is on top of full size steel springs. Also a climate control fabric like Climasmart or Outlast will help.

What size and what do you call expensive?

Madrid 4'6" mattress £415 (platform top divan set is only £5 extra at £419!) or mattress £399, both + £30ish delivery for the mattress.

The Breasley Flexcell seems to have two versions, one all memory foam and one with pocket springs. Memory foam version only is cheaper.
