he did mention, he put his own label on the bed. i think he said its 1800 pocketspring.

how will i find out more bout the bed, will there be details when the bed arrives in 2 weeks??

When it does arrive, how do i check if the bed is good and actually have what i ordered?

Tim, have you heard of the company, if so are they any good?

    cheers

Try calling Airsprung and asking them for the spec.

It would probably be too late to change your mind once the bed has been delivered, so you need to find out more now.

I haven't heard of the company before, so all I can say is that they are very, very expensive. The only things I can judge them by are the facts that they are expensive, that they hide the true identity of the products by re-labeling them (I bet they also have a price promise), and that they have conned you into believing that you were getting a real bargain..........but that's the same as most shops.

The best pocket sprung matresses are made by millbrook.A bit expensive but they are quality.
  • My husband and I are looking for a new mattress/bed. We were both scanned for the sleep to live and found that he needs a medium and I need a soft mattress. After testing the live to sleep we had to agree that they did feel really nice.

We also want a new bed so not bothered if sprung based or not. I gather that a sprung base will give that extra softness whch might be good for me.

Any views on the Sleep to live and VI Baronet Supreme?

Don't want to pay out for something that will not last. Just want a good nights sleep

    Many thanks ;)

Their computer is one of the biggest gimmicks in the bed industry.

You should choose the firmness of a mattress depending on what you find most comfortable, and the type of mattress depending on how much support you require.

The idea on one half of the mattress being soft and the other being firm is great in theory, but it means that the mattress can't be rotated end to end unless you want to keep swapping sides (which most people don't). If it is a non turn mattress you can't turn it over either. So the life of the mattress is hugely reduced.......not what you want with a very expensive bed.

Yes a sprung base will make the bed feel softer and more luxurious.

I used to own a Vi sprung mattress, and it wasn't anything special, but was very over priced.

Help, I have agreed at the last minute for my son to have a French student stay for a week. Problem is that the spare bed doesn't yet have a mattress and I will need one by next Saturday!

I have approx £150 to spend on a firm double mattress which will be going on a pine bedframe and would prefer to buy online. I would like to spend less but most important to me is that I get the best quality mattress I can for the money.

I understand that specific product recommendations can't be made but can anyone recommend some brands/makes?

I have found this mattress - is it a good buy?

Yes, but what are their beds actually like - are they any good? They felt damn good to me.

Sleep to Live is the new name for Kingsdown right? My local bedstore was knocking old stock out for about £400 - the salesman, who knew we weren't interested BTW, was waxing lyrical about them, lamenting how much they'd been reduced, and seemed genuinely impressed with this bed, as I was.

And Tim, the world is FULL of gimmicks.

As to them being any good, it is very difficult to tell, as they don't say anything about the specs on their sites. However it depends on how you judge something being good.........if you mean good value, then then I'd have to say no. If you find yours comfortable, then I'd say it is good for you. But remember there are some big brands our there whos mattresses are very comfortable when new, but not a year down the line.

It is very possible that they could be connected, as they both use the same system. I think they are both still trading. Maybe you could do a bit of research to find out.

Yes you are right, the world is full of gimmicks, and most of them are designed to con people into paying more money for something they don't need.
