He/she might just have done a simple forum search which is probably what you should have done.

Been there, done that. There are very few comprehensive reviews on performance of the bed over a period of time. Frankly, I couldn't care less that it looks lovely in the wrapping or the delivery team were smiling. Contrast that with the literally dozens of views about the Silent Night group - many of which were just recycling information given by other people. This type of viral advertising - both positive and negative - has to stop.

You can disregard my opinions then because that's exactly what I did. Our old mattress gave up the ghost and we found this place whilst searching the web looking for advice on replacements. If you think that's in some way suspicious or necessarily precludes an honest and objective opinion, good luck to you.

It is the only way to get a 100% impartial view. Those flogging beds on here cannot query the impartiality of feedback on another product - ergoflex, perhaps - without conceding it's at least a possibility that they have manipulated reviews.

There was I thinking you were worried about how bad they looked a few posts ago....

Anyway, as I don't sell beds or anything else for that matter I'm not bothered what you buy or don't buy. The feedback I've offered is purely there for people who want to avail themselves of it and if they do that's their choice. If doing this helps just one person solve a problem that's fine by me. Coming across this thread helped us get a very comfortable mattress and save £££'s at the same time so that's the least I can do. It's what the MSE Forums are all about.

Anyway for a person whose Holy Grail seems to be totally unbiased opinions, you seem to be spending a whole lot of time in a public forum comprised of opinions from contributors whose indentities and/or motives you can't verify and who you're therefore unlikely to ever trust.

    Really?

Biased opinions are not necessarily wrong and neither are objective opinions necessarily right. Unless you're just on a crusade to 'clean up' this forum why don't you just trust your own judgement, go out and buy a bed and be done with it? This forum clearly isn't giving you what you want.

Thanks for your reply. We are looking for a firm mattress to go on to a pine bedframe. Our budget is up to £500 approx but that is the absolute max.

    Thanks

£500 is plenty. You can get 2 sided pocket sprung with memory foam for that.

...Given your posting history, you seem remarkably well informed about the people who have bought LR beds...

I have posted on this thread 7 times over the last 4 months (whilst I have been considering "which mattress" to buy - notice the title of the thread ?). You have posted 13 times over just the last week or two - generally to solely rubbish the opinions and advice of someone whom we all know sells beds - but nonetheless the more intelligent of us can appreciate the value of having his comments available for consideration.

    :D

The "more intelligent of us"?? Surely you mean "those of us who only listen to salesmen".

You could not make it up.

    Yet again, "woooosh".

Biased opinions are generally wrong and objective opinions are generally right.

Is any of this sinking in yet?

Plenty has sunk in - You're extremely patronising and very good at asking questions and rubbishing other people. You're not so good at answering even simple ones like why are you hanging around here when you're clearly not finding what you want and you don't trust the advice being offered? Seems like some form of crusade to me...

It may have escaped you but by definiton if you make a major purchase it's usually from some form of salesman with some form of bias. Does that mean that all or even the majority of such purchases are a mistake? Presumably you don't buy very much, you just spend hours arguing the toss about it!

Are you so arrogant as to presume nobody around here is capable of making up their own mind based on ALL the conflicting opinions given here (and anywhere else they'll probably have looked)? What are you hoping to achieve? Some of us have tried to assist others who've come across the same problems. What have you contributed apart from rubbishing people you don't know, whose opinions and experience you choose to disagree with because they don't satisfy your personal credibility crtieria?

Unlike you, I've actually bought a product which ties in with the subject of this thread and given an honest opinion of it based on the time we've had it. That I will continue to do in order to inform other people. Readers can take it or leave it - that's their prerogative. Why don't you just do the same thing, trust other people to make up their own minds and let this thread do what it's intended to do?
