I looked on a couple of sites mentioned on here and they dont list euro sizes.
    cheers
As Tim says, just ask them for the size you want. It's not normally a problem.

It all depends on a few factors:
    1. What is your budget?
    2. What size of mattress are you after?
    3. What type of spring system do you want?
    4. How firm do you like your mattress?
    5. What type of base is the mattress to go on?
Out of interest, what was your previous mattress?

    1. Anything reasonable
    2. King
    3. Pocket springs
    4. Medium to firm
    5. Slats

    Previous mattress--Silent Night

    Thanks!

A reasonable price would depend on quality, so you would need a rough maximum amount.

Are you aware that you would need to modify the bed in order to take a pocket sprung mattress?

    Let's say £500 max, then.

What kind of bed modifications would i need?

For £500 you could get a very good quality two sided pocket sprung mattress. In fact you could get pocket sprung with memory foam for that.

You would need to either add extra slats to closed the gaps up to 1" (3" if it is 2 sided pocket sprung with memory foam), or you could lay a sheet of pegboard (or hardboard) over the slats to spread the weight out.

Guys just joined this forum and have been reading up on the this thread. I am looking to buy a mattress myself and need some help.

Initially I was interested in a Memory Foam mattress but after doing some research and coming across the fact that memory foam contains cancer causing properties, I was very put off as I also have kids who are always in my room playing on PS3's etc.

I am now looking at normal reflex foam mattresses and after doing much research was unable to find out weather or not normal reflex foam mattresses contain polyutherane which is the chemical linked with cancer.

I'm also considering natural latex as another option.

The latex one is a little expensive but I've never tried one before. Normal reflex foam I have tried as my friend has one and I just love it and find it so comfortable. So kinda leaning more towards a normal reflex foam mattress but a bit worried as I have been unable to find anything regarding whether it has cancerous properties or not.

Hope someone here can help me out and point me in the right direction.

    Thanks in advance.

Where on earth did you hear that memory foam contained carsonogenic chemicals? It sounds like you may have been reading some scare mongering propoganda from a company that charge the earth for natural products.

Reflex foam is also made from polyurethane.

Latex foam is made from natural products, but some cheaper latex foam also has synthetic additives.

If you are worried, then go for a pocket sprung mattress instead. They give far better support than reflex foam, and aren't as hot and sweaty.

That is a budget mattress. It's often best to go up a couple of models from the budget ones.
