No, the Milan is pocket sprung only.
  • If I go through ikea's mattress chooser... i sleep on my front.. usually feel warm.. neither broad hips/shoulders.. 5'6 tall and 132 lbs.. the cheapest recommended mattress is the hustad (pocket sprung), but it also recommends a base called 'alby' which is almost the same cost as the mattress itself, and actually is very much like a mattress with bonell springs. it seems odd having to buy 2 18cm thick mattressess. is there a cheaper way of doing this? obviously slats alone arent recommended for the pocket sprung mattress.

You have to remember that these so called mattress chooser's aren't going to advise you to spend less money, but would most likely advise you to spend more than you really need to.

Is there any reason why you are looking in Ikea, when there is a general consensus that their quality isn't up to scratch?

If you do dicide to go for Ikea, then you could allways use a slatted base and lay a sheet of pegboard (or hardboard) over the slats to spread the weight out. But before you go down this route I would read their terms and conditions very very carefully.
  • The main reason is because I have an ikea bed frame which is 140 x 200 and most other mattress suppliers dont seem to stock this size mattress.

It would be nice in a way to buy from somebody else because I'm not happy with the quality of the heberg mattress its way too soft.

Sorry, I thought you were also considering buying an ikea bed frame.

Most independent manufacturers will supply Ikea sizes.

just realised I meant the madrid!

so tim, same question but this time it's the venice and madrid
    thanks!
  • Tim,
I am replacing a heberg mattress which i'm finding uncomfortable when i wake up. So i guess my options are give ikea more business and get some hardboard. Or locate a supplier who does euro sizes but I'm finding them hard to come by. I looked on a couple of sites mentioned on here and they dont list euro sizes.
    cheers

Try phoning the suppliers, as not all of them actually list them.
