As long as the base is in good condition, there in no reason why you should have to replace it.Happy_Shrimper wrote: »One question that sprung (pun intended!) to mind was if we decided on a pocket sprung option, why would it not be better to buy a normal pocket sprung & and topper? Surely this would be more durable as the topper could be replaced?
There is a huge amount of research goes into developing mattresses, and making sure that all the components work well to gether. Using a topper is like a bolt on extra.
Anyone who has owned a topper, then changed to a mattress that contains memory foam will tell you that there is a huge improvement.0 -

This is one of the mattresses that you may bhave seen me mention before that contains reflex foam encapsulated pocket springs instead of the full size proper pocket springs. The reflex foam encapsulated pocket springs are much smaller, and don't give any better support that a reflex foam/memory foam mattress. Also the reflex foam surrounding the springs prevents adequate ventelation, which can cause overheating.
They wouldn't be able to vacuum pack and roll up one that contained full size pocket springs.0 -

Read the terms and conditions in this link:
It clearly says that you can't return it if it is opened. You can send it back within seven days if it is unopened. This just complies with distance selling regs.
Have you any idea how much it would cost to return once it has benn unpacked?
It's a big risk to take when they could just turn around and say "we didn't say that, read the t&c's".
Tim
You are wrong here, and as an e-retailer are displaying a worrying misunderstanding of the Distance Selling Regulations.
The Regulations make no mention of not applying if goods are opened or tested.
The DTI/ Office of fair trading specifically deals with this matter in their guidance notes to retailers on the DSR. I would post the link here, but cannot as I am a "new" member and it will not let me post links.
However, the guidance clearly states, that:
"3.42 We are conscious of concerns about reselling items which may raise
concerns about hygiene. However, the DSRs do not link cancellation
rights with a supplier’s ability to resell items as new."0 -

I know what you are saying, but there are loopholes that many retailers use to get around it.0 -
Hello,
Does anyone have a super king size from La Romantica?
I have an Ikea bed frame which will only take a 180cm wide mattress and 6 foot six inches (uk standard size for super king size) is 183cm.
Thanks for any advice,
Dave Cooke :rolleyes:0 -
Sorry!
I meant to say 6 foot is 183cm!
Thankyou:o0
