I recently bought a "Dorlux Comfort Collection - Memory Foam" 4ft 6 mattress.
Barry, is this the one you bought?

    How are you finding it?

Having looked at comments here and elsewhere we don't think a memory foam mattress would be suitable as I get very hot when sleeping and it seems a general consensus of opinion that foam mattresses make you hotter.

We only have one local mattress supplier and the manufacturers they have on display are very expensive, so short of traveling quite a way to see one or two other stockists we may have to buy on line.

Searching around I found these and wonder if anyone has any thoughts about them as they do seem a lot cheaper than others I have seen.
  • Hello. I'm new to this forum thing.

I recently bought a 'Sleepeezee Backcare Extreme'
mattress from a local bed store. It is very firm and I now feel I have made a mistake (bad back at the time).

I have not taken delivery of it yet but the store will not allow me to cancel.

Would some kind of sprung base make a significant difference to softness.

    Thanks.

    Is this one any good?

The added bonus with this one, is we can have it interest free for 10 months.

As buying a bed seems to be unecessarily complicated, and from what I have heard today, full of reps who dont seem to have any idea what they are talking about, I am now totally confused.

See post 2548 for information on different types of memory foam mattress, and about heat.

As for the smell. This is found most often in reflex foam/memory foam mattresses that come vacuum packed. It is just the fire retardants that haven't dried properly, and should go away after a couple of days airing.

Don't be put off memory foam by horror stories about heat. This applies to either reflex foam/memory foam, or those containing reflex foam encapsulated pocket springs, or to mattresses with a layer of memory foam that is too deep.

The mattress in your link is exclusive to mattressnextday. Often exclusive products are made to a very low spec (these must be to sell at that price).
