Well, I put my washing out and then the heavens opened so I had to move it to my sheltered line. Like you, Pippa, I have a sort of gazebo thing that has polycarbonate sheets over it so I can hang my washing out whatever the weather. It's so handy - I think every home should have one, especially with our climate. The sky looks brighter now but then it did first thing this morning - the rain started really suddenly.
Well, I'm off to have some toast now - I'm really hungry but don't want anything too fancy.
    I'll call back later.

I agree Kathy every home should have one, I know I would be lost without mine:D
I very often sit out there at night in the summer:rotfl: with a glass of white and just relax, even when its raining....which is`nt very often..... ;)

Ahh I am glad you are feeling a bit better now, toast just hits the spot does`nt it when you are feeling a bit off colour?

    Hey ho, checking back again.

Bread rolls have just gone in the airing cupboard to rise; cheese, Quorn and tomato quiche is virtually ready to cook - just need to pour the egg/cream mix over it just before it goes in the oven.
Have started harvesting tomatoes from the pots on the patio:j so hopefully I won't need to buy them from the market any more for a little while.

Sunnyday, I never heard of giving a dog childrens' cough mixture before; but if the vet says do it, it must be OK. Did you manage to get it down the little woofer's neck in the end? I've never had to give a dog liquid medicine - don't quite know how I'd go about it.

    Later, people.:p

    Hi all,

Mummysaver - I have 2 experts on pinching cat food right here with me now:D Our cat isn`t to be beaten though she will stand up on her back paws and steal from the doggies bowls as an act of revenge, makes me laugh so much to see her doing it, usually as one of the dogs is watching and not quite knowing what to do about it lol.

LameWolf - i thought it seemed strange too but i googled it and found it to be quite common, i had a bit of a job finding out which one though as there are so many, the vet said benylin but there are several types for children but got the right one eventually. Giving it to her was another thing altogether:rolleyes:

    1) Get dog to sit in a corner facing you

    2) Approach with spoon - note dog will eye you suspiciously and will have jaws clamped firmly shut.

    3) Put spoon under dogs nose to see it she will want to try it and lap at the measuring spoon - note dogs jaw is now as clamped as tightly shut as it will ever be.

    4) With free hand across top of dogs nose lift up the lips and see the teeth, prise the teeth apart and shove the spoon in turning it upside down and wipe spoon on tongue on the way out.

    5) Run as dog is not impressed and may start spitting medicine in all directions whilst pulling "that face" showing it hates the taste :D

I have to do this again in a couple of hours and it`s getting harder to get her to sit in the corner as she knows whats coming. It does work though so she`s on 3 small spoons a day until further notice. It`s a lot cheaper than the vet too.

I`ve learnt a lot about kennel cough in the last day or so.

    Catch up later peeps

SD, I'll keep a note of the instructions, just in case I'm ever in that situation.:D
Seriously though, I'm glad it's working. I love all things with fur & 4 paws, and I don't like to think of them being in any discomfort.

    Hi everyone

(((hugs))) for those in need and Happy Birthday Miss Essex girl and Happy Aniv Meanmarie (although the day is nearly over now)

After spending nearly all morning on the phone to sky because I couldn't get online I have been playing catch up for the rest of the day  The annoying this is, if I had been able to get online and look at the techie forum I could have solved it in 5 mins ahh well.

Have just taken two quiches out of the oven - one for dinner and one for the freezer.

Sorry you didn't get the job Tiredmum and Snowy well done for getting through the assessment day. Did you have to do anything strange? One I went to we had to design a new sports drink and the advertising for it. I had an email from an agency that I applied for a job online asking me to call, the lady who answered said Ahhhh you need to speak to Hayley, shes at lunch, she'll call you as soon as she gets back. Well so far she has been at lunch for 4 hours - I want her job :rotfl::rotfl:I've not bothered to ring back as I know it will just be come in and sign up with us. Something will turn up.

Booked tickets today to go to cinema on Saturday and see Mamma Mia I haven't been to the cinema for over 5 years

    Okay Daft Question time...

Twinks Hobnobs how long do they last? I have made around 200 and was going to freeze some, but wondered how long they would last in a container, if I pretend they aren't there and don't tell DH that they taste so nice! Only two (or maybe five) broke so they were the only ones that I have eaten!

We had a major baking session, I have made some little fairy cakes, cookies, Twinks Hobnobs and a giant jaffa cake! I have also started the marinade on the chicken for the Tikka. It will make 10 portions!

Hey Lamewolf - just realised that you and I must be nearish to each other! Easiest way to work it out when you go to Mr T which one of the three do you go to? We go to the Bletchley one!

Right got to go as DH just pulled up in my new car!!!

Sunnyday, we had a labrador with kennel cough, and he loved the Benylin! Mind, the only thing he really didn't like was lettuce.
