Hi all and thanks for the good wishes. I am feeling slightly less queasy now; I don't know what has caused it. DH has just phoned and said it's because I'm lovesick for him!!!!! :o :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Lots of (((hugs))) for all the other poorly ones today and also for those having interviews and job hunting.

    Pink-winged - have a great holiday!

Well, I put my washing out and then the heavens opened so I had to move it to my sheltered line. Like you, Pippa, I have a sort of gazebo thing that has polycarbonate sheets over it so I can hang my washing out whatever the weather. It's so handy - I think every home should have one, especially with our climate. The sky looks brighter now but then it did first thing this morning - the rain started really suddenly.

I've done a few more wedding favours and realised that, although I have bought miles of pink and gold ribbon, I still need to buy loads more; I was going to get DH to help me assemble them in a sort of conveyor belt way but the bows are very small and his hands will be too big to tie them neatly! If I put him in charge of unwrapping the Love Hearts he'll end up eating half of them! I'll just have to perservere over the next couple of weeks.

Well, I'm off to have some toast now - I'm really hungry but don't want anything too fancy.

    I'll call back later.

Sorry you didn't get the job tired mum.
  • afternoon all and (((hugs))) to those that need or want them, for reasons sad or happy.

It's very, very wet here today, and I'm sitting in the office with soggy feet  - I'll be raiding my drawer for a cup soup to warm me up momentarily, I think (I'm not a big fan, because of all the things in them, but they're useful to keep for days like today...). It's looking like it's starting to brighten up now, though, so hopefully it'll be dry by home time.

I tidied out my plastic box cupboard last night, so I'll no longer get brained by lids when I open the door :T and tonight I'm getting started on hauling things out my wardrobe (it's a bit walk in cupboard with another wardrobe, a chest of drawers and a whole heap of stuff in it). Dad's coming up next week to take away the recyclables, the wood (which he'll keep) and the old bits of carpet which are so old as to be only good for the tip. Then I'll have the space to decide what I'm ebaying and what's a charity shop thing. Even if I just get all the loose clothes onto the spare bed tonight, I think I'm onto a winner :D

Does anyone know of anything I can reasonably do with a whole wodge (probably about 50) recorded-from-the-TV video tapes? I've not watched any of them in about 9years and my video recorder's dying a death, so I want to reclaim that shelf... If the only solution's to send them to the tip (they recycle as well, so if they can be, they will be there) then I want to have them good to go for Dad...

    Afternoon peeps

Aw sorry to hear about the job tired mum, something better will be along soon i`m sure. I`ll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Happy Birthday to Miss Essex Girl :bdaycake:

Happy Anniversary to Mr & Mrs Meanmarie:bdaycake:

    ((((HUGS)))) for everyone else.

Well it`s actually still dry and reasonably sunny here so i`ll keep hoping it stays that way, it`s a lovely change after all the rotten weather that we`ve been having.
Kathy - glad you`re feeling better now.

Redruby - i spoke to the vets a couple of times yesterday, it`s too late to have the oldie vaccinated now that the little one is coughing but we were told to give her childrens cough medicine. Apparently it`s really contagious for up to 3 months but even a vaccination is no guarrantee that they will not catch it as it keeps mutating:eek: We can also give her honey to soothe her throat and have to keep an eye on her as if it gets worse she will need antibiotics. She seems her normal self at the moment and is as active as ever:rolleyes: I`m just scared in case the oldie gets it but hopefully as he is showing no signs he will be ok.

    Catch up with everyone later.

thought i would join in with this thread as you all seem soooo friendly!

so far today i have been to tesco for some shopping- not very o/s or moneysaving you would think, but only spent a fiver as had loads of money off coupons so saved a bundle

have some bread in the bm which should be ready in an hour or so, ds enjoys chewing on the crusts lol
i've been attempting to 'fly' since i got home from shopping but ds has recently started crawling and i seem to be spending most of my time dragging him away from the tv cabinet! now that he is having a nap i am going to try and get as much as possible done in the next hour or so.
making a curry for dinner from a recipe on here (think it was curry queens?). i made the standard sauce last week and froze 3 portions so will take that out of the freezer and make a korma and some pilau rice to go with. also got some naan bread from tesco reduced to 12p so might have a bit of that as well
having seen some of the threads on organizing christmas, i think i need to sit down and sort out what i need to do, whos getting what etc, so that i dont have a mad rush (who am i kidding, it happens to me every year)

thats about it really- will run the dog along the canal when it stops raining as well. must remember to dump a towel by the front door to dry his muddy paws on. off to do that now

hope everyone is having a good day

    :-)

Sorry about the job Tiredmum, hope that something good comes along soon.

Snowy, well done about the selection day, even if you don't really want the job, it's always easier to look for another one whilst you have one to cover the bills, and it might lead onto something different, you never know, fingers crossed for you.

Sunnyday, hope your little dog gets rid of his kennel cough soon, my daft basset always tries to grab a spoonful of calpol if I'm dishing it out to dd3, mind you he always tries to eat anything, maisie cat wasn't best pleased with him when she found him woofing down her food yesterday!

Not done a whole lot still, but did catch up on some sleep, so feeling a bit more human, trouble is even though I'm tired and I know I'm grouchy if I sleep more now I won't sleep tonight, sigh! Also caught up with a pal on the phone, he has met a girl through facebook and seems quite smitten, whilst I'm pleased for him I'm still finding myself reminding him not to rush into things - something he has a tendency to do, then I get to listen to the repercussions, still he says he won't this time, we shall see!

Just found a note from ds, need to phone his German teacher, I almost had a cow about the cost of his German trip next year, so he assumed he wasn't allowed to go and told the teacher that, now I need to try and get him on the trip even though the closing date has gone! Still not happy about £400 for a 4 day trip by coach, especially when on past form we will have to pay for all meals and assorted visits on top of it. Better phone her in a bit, if I can't get him on the trip I can guess where we'll be spending autumn half term, hope my ropey schoolgirl German is up to the task if we have to go! Still on the bright side we could go later and take the children to the Christmas markets, which are always rather lovely.

Weather looking ominous here, but not actually raining yet, hope it stays dry for dd3's tournament.
