it sounds like you are saying they don't trust what I have told them about how the accident happened, thing is I don't blame them it's their job to be suspicious and to keep payouts down. It's just annoying me a bit with it taking so long and as I have been with L&G for four years and this is my first claim and my first contents claim ever0

they will be looking at it as a suspcious claim there is no point in being pleasant escalate the matter to a senior manager or so called customer care manager and give them heaps at the very least it will get you an early decision0

I know when my brother inlaw claimed for his TV with a cracked screen his insurance company collected his TV, do they do that in all claims they think may be suspicious because they paid out in vouchers in his case,0

Before and after photos are classic requests following a conversation managment interview. They are whats called barriers, designed to put you off claiming if you really arnt genuine. They'll have asked for a load of other stuff- statements of loss etc if they dont like it.
If you comply with all the requests the claim will usually be settled with vouchers from one of the insurers appointed suppliers.0 -
the policy gives the insurers the option to issue a "voucher" but you pay your premium in cash and are entitled to a cash settlement many people are put off because they accept what they are given. Vigourously pursuing a cash settlement will work if you stick at it0

taking a cash settlement increases the cost on YOUR policy and therefore YOUR premium. If its a geniune claim replacement would be best for you as it will be a lower cost that cash settlement. assuming your insurer has a discounted scheme with the supplier...0

the policy holder should have a choice replacement benefits the insurer and reduces their so called " claims spend"0
