Hey guys I thought i would post my new deal via retention team.
They called the house phone but wasnt at home so they called mobile.
I am now paying £50 a month for 12 months and have the following:
TV XL (includes bt sport)
Talk unlimited
BB 152--> upgrade in feb 2016 to 200mb (also told that new superhub 2 will be given free of charge)
Tivo box 1tb
extra V hd box
Break down of conversation: line rental free (payed for me by them), monthly charge of £52 with £24 credit making it £50 a month all included.
Its not the best deal i have got from them but still better than paying full price.:)0 -
Gave my 30 day notice. Kept going on and on about broadband speed. It was a hard conversation. Used BT Sport on the BT deal and the extra sky channels on the orig bundle to bargain with. Also talked about the quidco cashback.
Hoping they call back with a good offer. Im on £39 for M TV with Tivo, 50MB Broadband and Weekend calls.
This was after i could not renew my mates deal of £34 for XL TV 152MB Weekend calls.0 -
Hello
I currently have the following for £75 p/m all in, which includes a £5 p/m loyalty discount:
Big Kahuna Bundle
Multi Talk 1000
Talk Unlimited
Free Voicemail
T V Size: X L
TiVo Monthly Fee
Vivid 152 Optical Fibre
I am out of contract and know am paying too much for the above, so called yesterday to see what they offered me. I got the following downgraded packaged (which suits me better) offered for £53 p/m all in:
Big Bang Bundle
Multi Talk 1000
Talk Unlimited
Free Voicemail
T V Size: L
TiVo Monthly Fee
Vivid 100 Optical Fibre
I feel that £53 is too much for what they offered me, tried to get the chap to reduce but had no luck. Served my 30 days notice.
Can anyone on this package tell me what they are paying, or what would be a reasonable cost p/m for the downgraded package. Hopefully the retention team will call, have been with VM for over 6 years.
Ta!0 -

That is definitely too pricey for what you are getting. The outbound retentions will call you though and give you a better call. Let us know how it goes.0 -

I'm on the same package as you and getting charged the same. Did they offer you anything at all before you banded in your notice? Think I'm going to give them a call soon but just trying to work out what sort of price/deal I should aim for.0 -

They offered me the same for £34 on a 12 month contract or £39 if i wanted M+. Also talked about the speed increase from 50 to 70 which is happening.
I bargained with the BT Infinity + Free BT Sport bundle and the Sky 50% off original bundle with fibre.
You shouldn't aim for deals when calling. Your aim is to give the 30 day notice. The outbound retentions team have the power to give far better deals.0 -
Got the call today, £36 all in for 12 months (on a 12 month contract) for the below if I stay. That's £20 p/m less for the same package they offered me before I cancelled!
Big Bang Bundle
Multi Talk 1000
Talk Unlimited
Free Voicemail
T V Size: M
TiVo 500 GB
Vivid 100 Optical Fibre
I accepted.0 -

Thats very decent. I'm just wondering though if you really need multi-talk and talk unlimited. Most mobile sims offer better value. Also the M package is basically just freeview.
They called me the other day but i wasn't in. Hopefully they call again.0 -
So the outbound retentions called me. Here's what they offered. All including line rental.
50mb(Upgrading to 70mb) and Weekend calls for £19.50
100mb (Upgrading to 150mb) and Weekend Calls for £25.50
50mb(Upgrading to 70mb) Weekend Calls and XL TV for £44
I decided to go for the 100mb option and take the sky 50% off for my TV which is a tenner a month.0 -
I am not very experienced at this so I don't know if anyone can tell me whether I could have done better, or not.
I phoned Virgin about my broadband. I was on 20 mbps broadband for £28.49 per month and no phone line. I have now changed this to 50 mbps (increasing to 75 in November) plus a Virgin phone line with free weekend calls for £20.49 per month for 6 months. This will rise to £25.49 per month for the following 12 months. But they said I could phone them in 6 months to see if any further discounts were available. They said this was the maximum discount when I pressed them about call charges as I don't make many calls.
I got this from the first person I spoke to without being referred to retentions.0
