  • Hi all! I just called VM to ask about the 'Big Kahuna Sports' bundle, which is apparently:

XL TV + Sky Sports HD + BT Sports HD
    Phone Talk Weekends
    200Mb broadband

They're saying the above with a loyalty discount will be £86.99 per month for a 12 month contract (this is only after I asked if they could reduce it from what I assume is the sticker price on the website!). I couldn't care less about the landline (don't even have one anymore) but they insisted it would be cheaper. Presumably they can do better than this, but does anyone have any specific guidance? Thanks so much!

(I currently just have 152Mb BB and no phone, paying £39ish. I've been with them for yonks too)

    Hey guys,

Just wondering how quickly the retention team get back to you? I just gave my 30 days notice and hope they call me back.

Also do they call mobiles or the house number associated with the account? I ask as i am currently not at the house to receive the call should they call

    Thanks in advance for replies
  • Yes someone on here had their mobile called Daran

So I managed to negotiate the following deal -

    12months -
    100mb Broadband £9.50
    Line rental Saver £165
    £50 credit on the account

I think if I pushed, I could of got better as I have a 2nd line with them up for renewal which I have managed exactly the same as above but 50mb for £2.50 a month

New speeds for existing VM customers.

''If you’re an existing broadband customer on 50Mbps or below, 100Mbps or 152Mbps, we’ll offer you an upgrade to our more powerful speeds of SuperFibre 70Mbps, VIVID 150Mbps and VIVID 200Mbps''

... but if you don't want it, we'll still charge you for the upgrade anyway.

New customer @ Virgin Media. Moving from Talk Talk. Got a cracking deal after an hour long negotiation on the phone. I was only interested in taking up Broadband and perhaps the fastest line that one can get at the moment is with Virgin.

So here goes a "new customer" deal:

200 Mb Fibre + Talk Weekend = £15/month + £164 upfront line rental for a year + free installation + £50 bill credit in the first month. 12 month contract.

    Effective price per month = £15*12 + £164 - £50 = £294 = £24.50/month.

    What do you think?

And to give you an idea on the comparable prices, look at the best deal available on MSE for Talk Talk.

The best alternate deal in the market at the moment is for an 18 month 38mb fibre broadband deal from Talk Talk at £384 for an 18 month contract with a £100 free voucher. This effectively means a price of £24.50 per month, same as the Virgin deal - except that its for a 12 month contract and a massive 200mb line speed.

Are you sure it's a 12 months contract? Virgin contracts that include line rental are usually 18 months for the line rental part.
