The £30 per month included his line rental. He then decided to pay the line rental up front (£120) and that made his total monthly price £16.10, so by my calculation his line rental was £13.90 before.''He who takes no offence at anyone either on account of their faults, or on account of his own suspicious thoughts, has knowledge of God and of things devine.''0 -
I just called Virgin to review my package (bills getting out of hand!) and there's no longer an option on the phone menu for "Thinking of Leaving Virgin". How long has that been gone?
Not sure which department we ended up talking to, but it was offshore and they weren't very forthcoming with package/price options.
Is this the way it works now? Do we have to give them notice and wait for them to call us with offers now? And is it possible to get through to Glasgow anymore? You had me at your proper use of "you're".0 -

Think that it is 1, then option 5 (moving home or something like that) then 3 (leaving) - they have just changed the menus round but the option is still there.

We have been a loyal virgin customer for many years. Thinking of moving to sky so cancelled. We're offered the following by retentions:
M phone, XL TV (need this for kids favourite progs), TiVo box, extra HD box, L30 broadband.
Post Feb price increase this will cost £53.50.
Does this sound good or have other people had better deals? Do people who have virgin phone find it expensive. Would appear that call charges are expensive partic 08 etc.

People should check their bill. I renewed my contract in December to 10mb BB and free 08 calls and weekend calls for £22.90/month. For some reason, when I checked my bill, it said I was on BB 'L' rather than the 'M' I was paying for.
I phoned Virgin and told them about this so wanted BB L, and the lady upgraded my package to 30mb BB for free, and sent out a complimentary superhub. I'm now on 30Mb BB with the aforementioned call package for effectively £17.90 (having paid the upfront line rental) per month. I'm very happy with that.0 -
Hi,
following last weeks post, I rang virgin yesterday and said I wanted to leave saying that I could get the same package (now £41) for £30 elsewhere.
Immediately she offered me better broadband (30mb), same TV but with Tivo and same phone for £30- only snag was £49 installation on the Tivo but I figured I can recoup that by paying line rental up front.
I'm reasonably happy with this as I don't have ariel or dish so that would have cost.
Hope this helps someone, J0 -
Phoned them couple weeks ago and said I'm leaving, they asked why, I said because I can get it cheaper elsewhere, they put me straight through to cancellations no other questions asked, no offers. I cancelled - services will deactivate on the 7th Feb. No one phoned me yet (although I work Mon-Fri, so can't tell for sure, do they phone any hours?).
Now, how should I play this one? Wait till last minute? I don't want to cancel (over the last few years I've been with them, there were hardly any faults or problems and good old saying tells us to leave well alone).
And in case they won't call at all, I'm going to have to call and cancel deactivation but what should I say to get better deal? Btw, I've got landline and BB and am paying 23.89 at the moment but that will go up to 24.99 next month. TIA.0 -
