Decisions...decisions....which is best MSE's half price TV offer with £25M&S voucher or pay full price but £100 M&S voucher and possible £100 cashback ? Guess a straight cash discount is best if you don't usually shop at M&S with their somewhat slightly high prices.0

I wouldn't be paying any installation fees so yeah, go through retentions.
The cost you are seeing, 50% of that is due to the Sky Sports alone...
Just went on the Sky website and clicked all the boxes. Added movies and 3D and everything else that was going (as a rough guide) and it totalled about £75 with more channels, more HD channels, 3D TV, F1 HD, no caps on broadband and a £100 M&S voucher.
* phone line was included in the calculation along with £7.50 unltd broadband0 -
Unlikely.
You may get a few quid off your list price, 60mb is £27.50 a month.
30mb is £22.50 a month, so you could certainly get a better deal than you are on, but £10 would be pushing it.
Just got off the phone with them.
I ended up getting 60mb for £22.50 so a modest saving of £1 pm post price increase. At least I won't be getting throttled down to 2.5mb most evenings.0 -

True, but I just had it installed today through the 50% offer here at MSE - full sky Pack, HD, movies, sports, £38 a month for 12 months.
Then had Virgin Tivo 1TB, 60mb BB and Phone - £33 a month.
£71 a month for both versus the £99.93 virgin we're about to put my package up to0 -

Good work, always nice to get more for less - will you be hit by the price rise in February though?0 -

Yes I will get the price rise in Feb. 30mb was not available in my area so it was either stick with 10 mb for £17.50 or upgrade to 60mb.
I wonder how cheap I could have got 60 mb for. Closer to £20 would have been nice but at least I will notice the speed increase. I'll certainly d/l more in future as I use the newsgroups. 4gb in 10 mins!:cool:0 -
Yeah - on the deal I got last night I got a credit equivalent to 11 months of the increase - its already applied to my account, so when I get round to it ill do the Line Rental saver and it will then be the amount I expect each month.0

price with movies and sports in HD is much more than your quote: £98 without multiroom and £108 with cheapest one plus another tenner for ESPN
also you compare ADSL internet with fiber optic one (which maybe is not an issue for many light users)
I live in their fiber optic are so can add it and the price is £120 for what I'd like to have and still BB is max to 30Mbps
Monthly costs- Sky TV
£55.50- - Sky Entertainment Extra
- - Sports 1
- - Sports 2
- - Movies 1
- - Movies 2
- ESPN
£10 - HD Pack
£10.25 - Multiroom subscription
£10.25 - Sky Fibre Unlimited
£20 - Sky Talk Weekends
Free - Sky Line Rental
£14.50
- Monthly cost
£120.50
I'd snap that 50% Sky offer and do what visidigi has done, but can't have a dish so didn't fight for the code last week0 - Sky TV

Believe it or not, the TV might be required to get down to the deal you accepted, even if you didn't want it. If you remove it the price will likely rise...0
