A package worked over many years of haggling with VM
L Phone
L Broadband
XL TV
Extras:
TIVO
Talk 0845 5
I was given the above with free installation and activation and I pay £51.65 a month
Do I still have a good deal?
If this is any help to you, I pay £54.60 for the following (12-month contract):
XL TV
20Mb Broadband
M Phone
Tivo 500GB
V+HD
V HD0 -
I now pay £28.49/month (after recent line rental price increase) for:
XL Phone, Talk Unlimited
Line Rental
1x phone call feature
M Broadband, 10Mb
M TV
Paper bill
Fully itemised billing

Didn't formally cancel but talked of leaving and was offered this:
XL BB (30MB)
L TV
Eve & w/e calls + 250 mins of 0845 calls
Tivo
Line rental
12 mth. contract
£47.90 with £49.95 install for the Tivo
Or, with TV XL and also keeping my existing V+ box, £53.90.
Said I'd think about it.0 -
Distance from exchange is obviously a factor. I'm less than 100 yards away from mine, know I can get 20MB on TalkTalk's ADSL and now have BT Infinity available with 40MB BB.0

I called virgin this morning as our 18 month deal is about to run out. we currently have:
M tv
L Broadband
L Phone
line rental for £32.90/month
managed to negotiate to:
M+ TV
L Broadband
M Phone
Line rental
sending us a HD box all for £29.90/month with no one off charge for the hd box.
doesnt seem too bad, it's slightly cheaper with more tv channels and no free evening calls and a hd box thrown in. said i would think about it and talk to the mrs's. i tried to get half price line rental for 12 months because we got this when we signed up last time was told they didn't do it any more. The guy i spoke to was plesant enough and seemed quite open to the idea of me trying to get money off my bill.0 -
Doesn't look like you're saving anything to me - you've downgraded your phone package (£5/month?) and gained a few extra channels (although that's the smallest package available to new customers).0

Does anyone know how many times the retentions team will try and contact you? I had a call last night and tried to barter a better deal but the offer still wasn't great. Has anyone else been contacted again after they've rejected the initial offer made by retentions? I'm happy enough to move to Sky but would rather avoid the hassle if I can get a good deal with Virgin.0

I called up and got XL broadband (30mb) and M phone (basic package - we don't use our landline for anything other than broadband) for £19.75 per month.
I told them I was going to Sky and quoted their current offer - £5 per month for the first 6 months, £10 per month thereafter - including (cheaper!) line rental it averages at £19.75 per month over 12 months. They made a few attempts at keeping the tariff higher but we got there eventually - chap on the phone was nice and helpful0 -
Hi all,
I've just been offered:
XXL Broadband (50Mb)
XL Telly
XL Phone with caller display
1 * 1TB Tivo
1 * 500GB Tivo
For £75.51 per month plus £99.90 installation / activation / something.
I have broadband and phone at mo paying £45.50 but contract will expire shortly.
Does that sound reasonable?
Thanks,
Dave0 -
